"A worm crawled up my arm and rested on my neck. When he whispered into my ear, I felt a tingle... He told me how to make a weapon to help us against our enemies. And here's the thing... it's made of worms... it even fires worms..."

My only prayer is to have a decent map...because the cargo hold sucked all the lemons in the universe. Stupid infinitely spawning enemies with finite resource garbage.

I did pre-ordered the System Shock remake based on the demo, and loved it.
SystemShock 2 was my intro to immersive sims and it's atmosphere is top, peak horror!
Wish we got games like these in every year instead of every 5~6 years!

System Shock 2 is one of the best games ever made, but didn't they announce this 5+ years ago? This game is far more interesting than some of their recent remasters. Love what they did with System Shock Remake my favorite game of 2023, I know this is just a remaster but will buy if it comes out in a reasonable timeframe.

Yes, but something tells me that NightDive might do :respect: the cut map for the Hydroponics Deck :respect:
I never really played the "original" SS, did not like the complicated interfaces, but this 2023 remake was great, but wish it has mode of unlimited enemy respawn with plenty of ammo drops.

Not sure what you are trying to say, there is no "remaster" for SystemShock 2 as far as I know.
There is a Enhanced Edition, which coming soon: SystemShock 2 Enhanced Edition
It might be the same, IDK

Yup, they just renamed it from "Enhanced Edition" to "25th Anniversary Remaster".

There isn't any System Shock 2 "remake" yet. The first game did get one which plays extremely well on a Steam Deck/controller but you do have to set some settings first for optimal play.

System Shock 2 got you to specialize between 3 base setups.
Any choice meant sacrifice.
You´ve always missed the skillsets you didn´t choose as your main one.

Which made for great replay value.

:respect:They basically invented this kind of system 25 years ago.

And I still own the original artwork

Ordering this, across the pond, on release date, was an expensive chore since i was a bit underaged at that time :twitch:

For good juju i´ve built it into one of my cases

fun exercise

Hopefully as fun as the System Shock "1" remake was and this follow-up here will be.

Can´t wait to shxt my pants again on the Von Braun :D

…kinda, but not really? You don’t have to specialize in your starting skills and you get enough points that even by mid-game the starting choice is kind of irrelevant. And there are pretty universal choices for “best/must have” skills like Standard Weapons, Hacking, arguably Melee. PSI can be monstrously strong, but really gets going in the late game. Starting off with it can be painful. IMO, Navy with +1 hack is probably the overall best start if you don’t just want to go oooga booga and gun down everyone, in which case Marine IS there. Options are great and when you know what you are doing you can beat SS2 with any reasonable build, but, like anything with RPG mechanics, it does have a meta-optimal way to play. It’s just unavoidable.
