AMD Aspires to profit by Q4 2007

As we all know, AMD is not doing so well as of late. Two quarters of battering revenue losses even have some analysts wondering whether or not AMD will still be around by 2008. Fortunately, AMD plans not to go without quite the fight. AMD is making all 65nm parts in most, if not all, of their fabs, and has started a new market strategy called "Asset Light". You can read some of the points highlighted in the Q2 earnings conference here.

Personally, I think AMD needs to hurry with octa-core CPU's, get ahead of Intel. Maybe then people will start buying off them more., and they'll earn more.

Not sure if that is the way to go. When C2D arrived...the ass whooping Intel took for 3 or 4 years really made them step back and take a look at things. They redesigned their core and came up with the AMD killer we see now. AMD can take a few notes from Intel and mix it with the stable Athlon 64 they got and go from there. Offer it at a lesser price than Intel and they will be out of the whole. Plus...deliver the XTX and do a few driver tweaks and lessen the power on a new revision of the XT card and they are good to go.

Oh the things they don't release to the public :D AMD has had Barcelona chips out for a while now, available only to the government and large businesses and financial institutions.
