Take-Two Delays Grand Theft Auto IV

Due to technological challenges in completing the game, Take-Two Interactive Software Inc on Thursday delayed its most important upcoming video game, Grand Theft Auto IV. The game, which had been scheduled for release in October, is now planned for release in the second quarter of Take-Two's fiscal 2008. That means it will not be on store shelves in time for the holidays, dealing a blow to Microsoft Corp and Sony Corp, who had been banking on the must-have title to help lift sales of their respective gaming consoles, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.
It's a disappointment that the game won't come out in the holiday period. It's one of the biggest games of all time,
said Janco Partners from Take-Two.

Ive never really been a fan of these games. I dont like the concept or the impressions it gives (not to mention the graphics are just plain goofy.) But I also hate to hear about any delays in a game period.

The graphics in GTA IV look much better than any previous GTA, especially for its huge size.

And what's wrong with the concept or impression?

most other sites are reporting problem with the PS3 version as the cell processor is a complete pain to program for. Currently all screen shots and movies are of the 360 version which was reported as finished, but sony have paid money to make sure that the 360 & PS3 version get release at the same time.

if i was rockstar i would sod sony and get the 360 version out before christmas and swimming in the millions which they will obviously make

how come vice city and san andreas were both biggest games of all time lol jk but this game looks cool... but when is this just going to get frustratingly repetative. the only way you could make it not is to let him get a job and a wife and kids... and who wants to play that?

He could still have a wife n kid and i guess a job and still be fun. remember postal/postal2 ? :)

what makes gta iv a little different from previous games is a little more realism (which might frustrate, granted) so it should still be fun to play. Instead of just jumping in ready unlocked cars with keys in the ignition, you have to stay out of cops sights and smash the car window and hotwire the car..which takes time. an interesting aspect i wanna play now ;)

Comes out when it comes out.
I don't want to be playing a GTA IV if the gameplay stutters, halts, lags, crashes etc. . . . .

They should take thier time to make it run perfect.

I remember when I bought GTA San Andreas at midnight the minute it was released here and the amount of people buying consoles solely for it.

Microsoft & Sony Corp can wait.
They aren't going to go bankrupt just because GTA IV didn't get released on time.
