Kinc and Shamino Break the 3D Mark 2006 World Record - Score 27,039 Points
After being robbed during the Games Convention, Kinc and Shamino have returned to their everyday life and started benching again with Mushkin, ATI and ASUS. The result is another broken world record. Kinc and Shamino are back to the top of the 3DMark 06 Hall of Fame with a personal record of 27,039 3D marks achieved with Shamino's QX6850 at 5119MHz(3DMark stable) on an ASUS Blitz Extreme, Mushkin's new DDR3-1333 memories and a pair of ASUS Radeon HD 2900 XT video cards overclocked to 1175/950MHz. The processor and the video cards were cooled by Shamino's Dragonpot, which in other terms mean liquid nitrogen. Here's the Futuremark ORB verification link.

Anyways that very well points out the early stages of large differences in performance shown in application use. Also remember that Nvidia received the DX10 SDK far before ATI did, so they were playing catchup. The 2900xt's will really start to show their power over the next few months and it would surprise me one bit if they were just across the board stomping the Ultra's flat out.
Not that I'm a fan boy or anything, but this is the truth of the matter.
At launch ATI didn't have the time to make every game run its best, now they do. How is that bashing? All I'm saying is that ATI put more time into improving 3dmark scores than they did on FarCry or some older or not as well known games. nVidia did the same thing at launch too.
As for the "runs best on nVidia" thats just nVid throwing money at the company to put their logo (advertising) and putting in a few optimizations. ATI has done it in Half Life 2 for example, I'm sure theres more.
Why are you 2900 guys so defensive these days?
P.S. Not recognizing TPU's own charts should be an insult to yourself.
but why discuss about it?
What happened in the robbery?
Clearly, the Robber(s) must have had taste, to take the 8800 gear and leave that low class ATI hardware behind!!! :nutkick:
