GMail Accounts Get 3 GB of Storage Space

When GMail was first unleashed in 2004, its 1GB of storage space quickly put it ahead of the competition. Now, GMail is looking to further that previous lead, by booting storage space up to 3GB. The reason behind GMail's new storage space is a simple lack of space in some GMail accounts. Google saw a problem, and quickly found a way to fix it. Google Apps will also have storage space increased to 3GB, and Premier Google Apps members will get between 10 and 25GB of storage space.

Meh! Yahoo today is what Google will be in a few years, and I don't mean that in a good sense. They've made so many blunders, blunders that made them money of course, but money dosen't make a good web portal, otherwise we would all be using MSN right now.

Thats great news for every one, since hotmail gave away 5GB to its users a while ago.

Gmail will never be like Yahoo. Yahoos spam mail filter is crap since day one and they havent done anything about for a decade. Gmail is the most expensive name brand on this planet. The google/gmail founders and owners are on top 10 Forbes list.

So yeah, Gmail learned from others mistakes and made improvements on doing so.

How so?? All the spam goes in to spam folder in stead of main Inbox folder. Thus it give you a chance to review your junk in case you want to buy some pills for your weener.

You peeps need to realize that everything that Yahoo, AOL, MSN are right now, is because of Google.

Hotmail (Windows Live Mail) is my personal favourite because it was one of the first, is reliable and gives 5GB of storage. Gmail isn't bad, but I never cared much for the interface myself.

I've grown used to Gmail, although I miss my maps. The best thing is it's fast. That was the main reason I moved from swedish Spray (adds, adds, adds and so on) to Gmail, back when we only had 56k.

As a user of Yahoo's online mail (for the past 7 years) and Gmail (for the past 2 or 3, can't remember how long it's been around), I have to disagree with you.

I use online mail accounts like Yahoo and Gmail simply to catch email through a forwarder on a domain I own. The forwarder doesn't block anything -- it simply redirects all mail sent to it to an email address I set up, either at Yahoo or Gmail. I've had this same email address at this domain for about 7 years, so it's had time to get on a lot of spammer's lists.

When I set this forwarder up to forward mail to Yahoo, something like 50-60 pieces of spam get through to my inbox every single day. This isn't including the 3 or 4 hundred that get redirected to the junk folder. And that's just one day.

When I set it up to forward to Gmail, that number of spam emails that make it to my inbox drops to two or three.

So, either Gmail's server admins are more on the ball when it comes to spam, or else Yahoo's simply not trying hard enough.

GMAIL FTW. the space that gmail offers you is increasing by the day, literrally.theres a counter on the front page that says the amount of space offered. gmail has the best spam filters i've ever used. never have to take a look at the spam folder and never have to see spam in my email. only once have i had to flag an email as spam. i've used yahoo, hotmail and gmail. gmail by far wins.

but how much you can upload for every mail?? 10 mb??

gmail rocks, i used old hotmail for 5 years and it sucks a lot, it was slow before and now windows live is still slow, soon there will lots of ads

ads in gmail doesn´t bother me, and if you get spam you can report it to help the community

thanks to gmail the other companies started to work on his mail

I know with Gmail you can use it as your own ftp server and upload stuff till it gets full. With others they have and probably still do have a 10mb attachment limit.
