Overall PS3 Demand in Japan Beats Wii
For the past couple weeks, we've been hearing that the PlayStation3 has been beating the Nintendo Wii in sheer sales week-by-week. While hardcore Nintendo and Microsoft fans will be happy to hear that this streak has ended (on the week ending 11/25, Nintendo sold 54,362 Wiis and Sony sold 50,564 PS3s), massive PS3 sales the other three weeks certainly helped Sony out. According to the latest sales figures, 183,217 PS3s were sold in November, as opposed to 159,193 Wiis. The Xbox 360 did not sell anywhere near that well in Japan, with total sales at roughly 26,000 units in November.

What happened to the days when you could actually buy something that WORKED and use it for years? Crap, my friend still has an origional Nintendo, Nintendo 64, ps1, ps2 (new little one), and Sega Genisis, they all STILL WORK. And none of them fill with dust every month. None of them double as space heaters. You just stick a game in, push power, and it works. AND you don't have to sort through an OPERATING SYSTEM just to play your stupid game. How long do people expect these systems to last under normal operating conditions? And if your a serious gamer, they will fill with dust in a matter of months. God only knows what will happen to these systems if you have a cat or dog. Either wait till the technology evolves enough to where it runs cool passively, or don't make them at all, thats my opinion. The "new" ps2s are great, small, cool, and they work. PS3's are about 15x the size.... Come on guys.
If they would quit adding every port known to man to their system, maybe they would have launched a bit more smoothly, and cost about 150 bucks less, and people would have actually baught them. PS2 sales werent THAT bad when they launched, because the systems WORKED. Yeah, the cool graphics on the new ones are nice, but keep it at that, don't add all the bells and whistles that a computer has, it's NOT needed, and not even really WANTED by a lot of people that just want to play a game.
And, judging just by the graph attached, the only thing sony is owning is a few weeks of sales(if you can even call an extra 20,000 units ownage), other than that, sony is getting owned by the Wii very much so. Since april, Wii's sold about an average of 275,000 units a month. Sony never even broke 100,000....
Every Wii was sold... the shops ran out of stock.
50% of PS3's are sitting in shop stock.
PS3 SOLD MORE than Wii.
DEMAND FOR Wii is greater than PS3.
Saying
is to
;
as PS3 is to Wii is completely misrepresentative.

A more accurate analogy would be,
PS3 is to Wii; as
is to
.
(the lifted monster truck wheels are how I see the Wii's motion sensing: Someone took a crappy old car (game system) and slapped on a cheap, unresponsive, impractical, stupid, gimmicky, off-road kit (motion senser) to make the POS stand out and look cool to morons (and 4 year olds) who don't know anything about cars (Video Games.)
PS. Xbox360 is still the best tho! WOOT
If they were from the Pentium 4 era then they wouldnt have multiple cores would they? But guess what the 360 has 3 cores and 6 virtual cores while the PS3 has 8 cores with 7 active for gaming purposes:slap:
I can't say anything about 360's cpu, as I don't know much about it.
Oh an LiNKiN, ^5 FTW BRO! Couldnt have said it better myself.
Also, you are just being a fanboy. Not everyone is into just blowing stuff up, I myself like the Wii because it gives me all the stuff I ever wanted out of games. I even got Metroid knowing it was a game where you blow stuff up, and I liked it. (I never liked Metroid before then). Playing FPS by using the Analog stick to aim at the screen gets old. I like that with the Wii you can point and shoot like the old arcade games, it makes you feel like you are actually within the game (this is why people complain about Manhunt 2 mimicking real ways to kill someone, even though they censored the scenes)
Honestly, I don't think a toddler could finish Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Resident Evil 4 and the like. And the one thing I can admit is that Nintendo still doesn't know what they are doing with their online service, I like thats it free, but Friend Codes ARE annoying and will always be that way. It ticked me off that online games didn't utilize the Wii Friends List...instead each game or Mii has its own code.
Wii's are so hard to find because Nintendo is only making close to 2 Million a month, and since it's Christmas all of the Wii's are being sent to the US & Europe to gear up sales. Nintendo is winning because they are trying to expand the market, what do you have to bash for it. You know all of you grew up on NES & SNES, so I don't want to hear you bashing Nintendo just for trying to expand the market. And no one really has to worry about hardcore games becoming easy for the casual audience, they are already coexisting pretty well. We can all look forward to Brawl and the kooky No More Heroes in February.
So to reiterate, Sony can have the victory in November in Japan alone, Nintendo will just have every other month in Japan plus Europe and America. Silly fan boy saying ignorant stuff.:banghead:
PS. I don't even like the Wii or PS3 or any other console on that matter, strictly PC gamer for me!
