Panasonic Unveils 150-Inch Plasma at CES
Panasonic has been demonstrating its new 150" Plasma screen to the public at CES this year. The resolution is 4096x2160, and pictures are shown below. As you might have guessed, this is the world's largest plasma display.

But then again I doubt that they would ever mass produce this kind of display kind of like that 100"+ LCD HDTV screen that Sharp introduced at last years CES.
now thats high definition
This thing supports 2160p, which won't be the standard for.. many years.
If the screen was 8' tall... then it would be 30' wide (?), resulting in a diagonal of just over 31' (~372"). Eat that Alienware and Panasonic! ;)
Which as far as I know, are things that projectors are not as good for.
But this raises the question, why would you need a television that size?
If your room is big go for a 50 incher, but this is just e-penisery! I say for the average person-> overkill.
But then again this is not intended for the average person.
My hypothetical 8' x 30' screen and projector setup is just e-penisery in the face of Alienware's extra-wide screen and Panasonic's 150" plasma. ;)
But size can make up for a projector's shortcomings. Right now I just have a basic 800x600 projector for playing movies up on the wall, about 100" diagonal. And every now and then a friend of mine borrows the projector from his church and we gather 50 or so friends and watch movies in the backyard. You forget about nitty gritty details like contrast and just sit down for a movie on a big ass screen :D
