RIAA Wants ISPs to Force Client-Side Filtering to Eliminate Piracy
Apparently, the RIAA doesn't feel like ISPs blocking piracy server-side is quite enough. The RIAA wants ISPS to begin implementing client-side filtering. This would work by forcing the end-user to install a program that monitors their every move, to ensure that nothing is illegal. It is very unlikely that such a move will actually come into play, because it is a massive violation of privacy and a huge breach of user rights. The RIAA feels that it would all be worth it, because it would let users that wouldn't otherwise know they're getting in a lot of trouble pirating stuff that they are, indeed, pirating.

#2) Good look with the Linux client, RIAA guys -- let me know when you have it done.
The US Government should use these methods to enforce "freedom" and "democracy" in the real world too...
I'm waiting for the government to plant chips in us at birth to track our every move, action and thought...
*For public safety*
because than ill sue the shit out of them and get so much money from it i would never have to resort to downloading movies again!
That or hack into the satcom network and surf that way.
this is a huge nail in their(riaa's) own coffin; as much as i don't like politicians, i can't see many standing for this.
The thing is, I'm certain the RIAA is doing all of these controversial things, to get people's attention away from the smaller, subtler changes they're making in the background. Which when we realise them, will be too late, and we'll have no liberties and rights.
It really is the "boiling frog" scenario.
Anyhow, RIAA has plenty of egg on their faces at the moment anyhow, so they have to do something to save face
The only way I could see this system benefiting people is if this could reduce use of something useful, like cutting down on child pornography, or spam, or anything else that's a much larger concern for public welfare, rather than the welfare of the big corporations out there.
Guns and hackers FTW!
internets--computer 1--computer 2
computer 1 probably a linux box simply to stream data from internets to computer 2 but yet there program can sit on computer 1 all it wants... computer 2 well thats where the pirated stuff is of course..... now when they never accomplish implementing it i laugh... but just in case someone with more experience make up better method xD
sames true for verizion and the rest, no ISP is gonna do this, it would ruin them.
the riaa/mpaa need the world to wake up and go jihaad on their asses !!!!
they wont get this to happen but they may manage to pass a law that all routers sold in the US for home use have to have some kind of software like this installed, and even force ISP's to requier them to connect to the net, if that happens im sure people will hak it or just setup smoothwall routers......

As for gun control, I am for it. Here is how it works ...
Pull gun.
Aim with a steady hand.
Pull trigger slowly and purposefully.
Practice often.
You will then have good control over your gun.
here in SC we call "gun control" hitting what you aim with the first bullet:D
