AMD Updates Desktop CPU Launch Schedule
AMD is planning to launch B3 stepping quad-core Phenom 9050 series CPUs including 9850, 9750, 9650, 9550 and 9150 within the next 1-2 weeks, however the top-end 9850 will only reach a core frequency of 2.5GHz, instead of the original goal of 2.6GHz. The company expects to be able to deliver higher core frequencies in the third quarter this year, according to DigiTimes citing sources at motherboard makers. AMD will later launch triple-core Phenom 8750, 8650 and 8450 CPUs with power consumption of 65W scheduled for April. Prior to that, the company will launch the Athlon 64 X2 5800+ to fill the gap in the mainstream market. For the dual-core CPU market, AMD will launch the Athlon 64 X2 5600+ Black Edition and 4600+ by the end of March and will follow with Phenom-based Athlon 6250 and 6050 CPUs by the end of the second quarter. The company has also informed customers that final orders for Athlon 64 X2 6400+, 6000+ and 5600+ (89W versions) will be taken till the end of March.

Is there not a 4600+ already? Or is AMD going to release 4600+ black edition? If so I will wait for that.
b3 release
joe public judge chips by how they come clocked.. there is some very simple logic at work here.. amd sell theirs as fast as they dare.. they have to.. they are behind in the race..
intel dont sell theirs as fast as they dare.. they dont have to.. they are in front in the race..
which is why the the higher end intels overclock and why the higher end phenoms dont overclcok..
the loser sets the pace.. the winner just cruises along at a similar performance price ratio to the loser..
one is trying hard the other isnt.. all very simple..
when amd were on top it was the other way around.. intel set the pace.. amd cruised..
if both parties were equal.. no high end chip would clock much.. both would be sold at realistic speeds so as to compete in the equal race.. the race is rarely equal..
trog
and how high did a 4000+ clock over stock? hahaha
AM2+ is a waste of money dont get it yet just wait for the new AM3 boards and CPUs and get a new x2 5600 black edition when they come out.
EDIT: AM3 boards can run DDR2 RAM and DDR3 Ram but not at the same time only one type can be used at a time.
Here's the new logo / bezel-sticker design:
Maybe it's how AMD calls the 64 X2 series and the X2 BE-2xxx (energy efficient 45W) processors combined.
