Gigabyte to Start Selling High-End PC Accessories

Well-known motherboard manufacturer Gigabyte looks set to diversify into the high end PC accessories market later this month, starting with the introduction of its new GK-K800 keyboard. The company will be targeting its products at gamers, and the initial focus will be on strengthening brand awareness. The GK-K8000 should be priced at around $113, and is likely to compete with similar offerings from companies such as Razer and Logitech.

The keyboard looks like something from the Commodore days. Good brand, OK keyboard, atrocious pricing.

LOL £55 for that POS! A saitek eclipse II is only ~£30 and it looks 1,000,000 times better than that 80's throwback!

So, if I got a cheap-o Dell keyboard. And modded it to look like that, I'd what? spend maybe 50ish dollars? Still cheaper then the price tag of that! You can get a good keyboard and mouse for that price!

They forgot to add LED backlight to compete with the others in this range! Just looks cheap with the orange buttons.

I wonder how much it costs them to make one, and the % of profit they make off each one.

They probably get a 60+% on this thing! It looks to cheap to be under 40%... IMO

Wow, orange buttons are expensive...
:p
They should at least make something up like "super low latency"...
Also, this one is meant to "strengthen brand awareness"...
True, I am "aware" this is a rip-off!

In all likelihood, it could be a prototype and not a finished product.

I'd even think twice about $25. It resembles my old Dell keyboard with the exception of the orange keys. I'll stick with my Eclipse II.

Let us hope they will do a change of style on the kb. Black and orange is a halloween deal and something Im not into. Id like black and blue or black and red or something. Not to mention, its all squarish. This is the 21st century folks, lets see some curve and style. And for $113 it better ____ and ____ ME for that!! ::haha:: (feel free to fill it in with your own choice of words). Id like to grab a Logitech G13 (or whatever it is without the LCD) instead.
