Age of Conan MMORPG Attracts 400k Gamers in First Week
It would seem as though World of Warcraft finally has some competition when it comes to the very lucrative and addicting MMORPG enterprise. Since last Tuesday, over 400,000 MMORPG gamers have signed up for Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, nearly half of which come from North America. This is quite significant for a game that's been on "the development backburner" for quite some time now. Even more interesting is that this game is pay-to-play, much like Blizzard competitor World of Warcraft. Whether or not this "savage, sexy and brutal MMO(RPG)" will be a long-term contender is yet to be seen. Whether or not the very strong Age of Conan fanbase comes through with a World of Warcraft killer, only time will tell. We'll keep you posted.

I think conan is gunna be a big hit, I think its probably the best looking MMO out there and if your really into the whole lore of the conan universe, the role playing servers are just insane...just read the rules...
But really its a great game and I hope it gives wow a run for its money. Oh and the reason I signed up for the beta is because I knew it would be popular, and odds are those 400,000 players are gunna need some help upgrading their computers...and I've tested all the key cards from x800/6600 upward :P
I'm getting a trial key this week, haven't had good experiences with MMO's as I always come in too late and I don't have anyone to play with.
:(
I'll try and find out for you.
getting my copy today :) :toast::D
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember WoW having a trail till a year or two after it was released. I also seem to remember Blizzard releasing their own "signed up" numbers after that trial period ended.
BTW: I'm not a WoW fanboy. Haven't payed for it and only played for 2 weeks and that was more than enough.
From what i have heard the Age of Conan is supposed to be quite good :)
