PCpraiser100The reason why is because Intel is still using the classic 2 die design by simply slabbing on two Core 2 (i7) dies on a single silicon piece. This means that if your dealing with a latency-sensitive 3+ threaded app, you're in trouble cause one core has to travel far just to communicate to the other die, which is a performance concern for gamers too. As a result, the i7 has to mostly rely on the QPI interface to achieve great performance, not HT. With this explained, this is why the Phenoms perform very well in GTA 4.
