Intel January Price Cuts Update
On Monday we informed you here that Intel intends to cut the prices on some of its processors. Well, it looks that HKEPC's information wasn't exactly precise as some of our readers pointed out. Now thanks to The Tech Report we have some new info, the new prices will hit on Monday, January 19 and primarily affect Intel's 45nm quad-core processors:

Or maybe the good ol' Q6600. It's so cheap. And with 9 in multi :)
Point being, Dual-cores are still a warrant-able purchase.
And I don't really need quad-core, although dBpoweramp utilizes quad-core to convert 4 songs at once and only 2 for dual-core, though that's converting music which doesn't take long and if it did it's just a matter of leaving the PC on overnight and setting it to turn off when it's finished converting.
Anyway, it was said that it's all about clock speed for BluRay playback, can the Q6600 clock to 4GHz?
But that is years ago.
Now, I just need wait for my paycheck...
