Galaxy Debuts Xtreme Tuner Overclocking Software

Galaxy today announced a new video-card management software, the Xtreme Tuner. Unlike other manufacturers coming up with different bits of software to tune the graphics card's running-state parameters and BIOS manipulation, Galaxy's software provides a consolidated interface for monitoring the various parameters of graphics cards and controlling clock-speeds, fan-speeds, BIOS manipulation and BIOS flashing from within Windows.

The software becomes especially handy when all controls are present in one page. It is noted of this software to support all current NVIDIA GeForce-based graphics cards, with the exception of BIOS flashing being exclusive to some Galaxy-made graphics cards. This is attributed to Galaxy using a dual-BIOS design with some of its cards. Incidentally, Galaxy has another software utility called Magic Panel, which now seems to be exclusive for Galaxy products in the Asian markets. The interface of the Xtreme Tuner can be indexed in the picture below as: 1. Graphics cards fan speed control area, 2. Graphics card's Core/ Memory/ shader clock control area, 3. Operation Monitor, 4. BIOS Flashing interface, and 5. Application settings.

Actually some part of it can work with old Galaxy graphic cards like my GF7600GS Premium for AGP. It shows me correct values of: GPU Clock, Memory Clock, Shader Clock is off as it should be and GPU Temperature. One thing doesn't work: it's fan speed (0%).

Wow, even Fan Speed working now^^ Propably it should some time to start or sth.

No burn-in test. You can say it's a Riva-Tuner, NiBiTor and NVflash rolled into one, with a pretty UI.

You can use it to OC / monitor your card, but not flashing its BIOS.

So other than being able to flash a galaxy brand card's bios, how in the world would this be better than EVGA precision? That interface looks wonky to me as well..

That's the "limited" part. In other words, they didn't make anything that didn't exist yet. And I don't consider GUI's like this pretty, I hate them. I don't see any added value.

Xtreme Tuner has actually existed for a while now. It came with my GALAXY 9800GT back in August. I'm not sure if it was actually released publicly before today, but I'm pretty sure that this existed for quite a while.

I just tried this software and it was horrible. I started it up and looked around a bit. All the readings did not match my card specs. I uninstalled it. My system started running horrible. I downloaded GPU-z and found out that it set my memory to 100Mhz from the original setting of 1107Mhz.

I've tried it and it is not giving me any grief yet...

the only problem I'm having is the bad GUI...

and it resets settings after restart...

After all that buzz about Evga Voltage Tuner i was expecting to see a voltage control panel in this utility as well. I guess not.

As some already said, nothing new here, may be the BIOS flashing utility will come in handy to Galaxy card owners but from reading the above posts it seems that Xtreme Tuner is buggy so if i had a Galaxy card i wouldnt flash it using this utility, at least not until they fix all the bugs.

It's complete garbage , I have both nVidia and ATI video cards , this software is biased towards nVidia. If the software doesn't cover the market they shouldn't even bother releasing it.

reminder that I'm upset with nVidia at this time for a failed 6800 series card , and very pleased with ATI and sapphire for the 3850 AGP

No all software is made for every one .

About look , it reminds me ideas used at the past from MSI and ASUS and INTEL about motherboards speed control .

I do not fly my hat on the air , or be negative .

What I'm trying to say is this program does not run on my ATI based video card and asks for nVidia card drivers, thats a little biased if you ask me.

reguardless of my failed 6800 ultra oc I will never forget what sega and nVidia did with the
Diamond NV1 tompson video card complete with sega pads and virtua fighter. ( that was a work of art )

I can see you and I will get along just fine kiriakost, since we both relish hardware and have similar systems, much like Elijah I forget I'm not alone in my cave , haha ha

It does me good to see I'm not alone.

On this piece of software in question I love the GUI but sadly it doesn't run on my ATI based system.

I'm going to have to flag it.
