Alpenföhn is a name that still hasn't crossed TPU's benchmark suites, but we have written about the brand in the past. The company is now launching a new AIO cooling solution, (well, cooling lineup) in the form of the Gletscherwasser AIOs, which are available in both 240 mm (240 mm and 240 mm HS) and 360 mm (360 mm and 360 mm HS) according to the employed fans. The Gletscherwasser was designed in conjunction with overclocking poster-child Der8auer, though the extent of this collaboration is unclear. The new AIOs do promise "high performance cooling in a near silent delivery", as most brands do. The Gletscherwasser AIOs feature RGB lighting (via 2x 120 mm ARGB fans or 3x of such fans, according to the 240 mm or 360 mm model) as well as customizable top plates that users can change and customize to their liking. There's a remote control for that ARGB goodness as well.

The pump on the Gletscherwasser AIO liquid coolers can be configured to either extreme performance or "virtual silence" (rated noise of 17.8 dBA). Alpenföhn promises an anti-leak design, with internal pressure avoiding any spillage should the potential for a leak occur (in all parts, including the 465 mm tubing that connects the pump to the radiators. The radiators are made of aluminium, coming in at 27 mm thickness. The Gletscherwasser 240 and 360 fans speeds range from 500 to 1600RPM, with a rated airflow of up to 92.6 m³/h, a maximum pressure of 2.19 mm Aq and a rated noise of up to 23.6 dBA, while the HS (High Speed) models fans are a bit faster and louder, reaching up to 2200RPM with a rated airflow of up to 132.4 m³/h, a maximum pressure of 3.24 mm Aq, and a rated noise of up to 36.8 dBA.

Alpenföhn today unveiled the Brocken ECO Advanced CPU cooler, available for pre-order through Overclockers UK in the EU. The Brocken ECO Advanced is the latest CPU cooler from German manufacturer Alphenfohn. It sports an asymmetrical design, with a compact size allowing almost universal compatibility of the adjacent RAM modules - no matter the height of the heat spreader.

The Brocken ECO Advanced offers an overall increased cooler size and with a new high performance fan gives cooling support for a TDP of 170 Watts; making it perfect for overclockers. It's ultra-quiet 120 mm WingBoost 3 fan, featuring redesigned blades and a fixed guide, increased volume flow whilst reducing total noise output.

Alpenföhn today introduced the Matterhorn Threadripper, a variant of its popular Matterhorn series tower-type CPU air coolers, which supports AMD socket TR4 (SP3r2). The cooler comes with an enlarged copper base, which offers full coverage of the Ryzen Threadripper IHS. Six 6 mm-thick copper heat pipes convey heat from this base through the aluminium fin-stack.

The cooler ships with a re-tuned Wingboost 2 120 mm fan, which spins between 500 - 1,500 RPM, pushing up to 106 m³h of air, with noise output as low as 18.2 dBA. Both the fins and the heat pipes feature a ceramic black coating that works to increase surface area for heat dissipation. A tube of Alpenföhn Permafrost TIM comes included. Measuring 138 mm x 100 mm x 158 mm (WxDxH), the cooler weighs about 1 kg. The company did not mention the thermal load limits of the cooler, and whether it's recommended for even the 250W TDP models such as the Threadripper 2990WX. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Alpenföhn today introduced the 3rd generation Brocken tower-type CPU air coolers in two premium variants - White Edition and Black Edition. These coolers are characterized with a refined anodized aluminium fin-stack design that's more wavy and asymmetric, to minimize sideways "bleeding" of intake air before it passes through the entire area of the fin to pick up heat. The designers also took the opportunity to add a new SECC-steel top-plate, and a fin-stack offset design that improves memory area clearance.

Five 6 mm-thick copper heat-pipes make direct contact with the CPU at the base, conveying heat through the fin-stack, which is then ventilated by a pair of 140 mm fans in push-pull configuration. These Wing Boost 3 fans take in 4-pin PWM input, spin between 400 to 1,500 RPM, pushing 103 m³h of air, with 22 dBA typical noise output, each. The cooler is capable of handling thermal loads of up to 220W, and supports sockets AM4, LGA2066, and LGA115x. Measuring 146 mm x 125 mm x 165 mm (WxDxH), the cooler weighs 1.02 kg, including fans. Available later this month, the Brocken 3 Black Edition and White Edition variants could be priced around 50€ (incl VAT).

ID-Cooling today introduced the SE-214RGB, a variant of the SE-214C launched last year. The new model features an all-black aluminium fin-stack, and an RGB multi-color LED-illuminated fan. It also bears striking resemblance to the recently launched Ben Nevis Advanced RGB, which reveals that ID-Cooling is Alpenföhn's OEM for the cooler. The cooler retains the design of the original SE-214C, in featuring an offset aluminium fin-stack to which heat drawn from the CPU by four 6 mm-thick copper heat pipes making direct contact, us fed along various points, while a spinal rod that passes through the center of the stack adds stability.

The off-center fin-stack design enhanced clearance near the memory area of your motherboard. The included 130 mm fan features four RGB diodes embedded into the inner walls of the frame, and a white impeller, which acts as a diffuser. It takes in 4-pin PWM input, spins between 500 to 1,800 RPM, pushing up to 69.5 CFM of air, with a noise output ranging between 14.2 to 30.6 dBA. Measuring 130 mm x 74 mm x 159 mm (WxDxH), the cooler weighs about 680 g (including fan). It supports most modern CPU socket types, including AM4, AM3(+), FM2(+), LGA2066, LGA2011(v3), and LGA115x. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Alpenföhn unveiled the Ben Nevis Advanced Black RGB CPU cooler, with market availability set for later this year. This tower-type cooler features an aluminium base from which four 6 mm-thick copper heat pipes make direct contact with the CPU to draw heat. These black heatpipes convey heat to the black aluminium fin-stack along the peripheries of the fins, while a central 8 mm-thick heat-pipe dubbed "shock killer pole" spreads heat between the fins, and dampens mechanical shocks. The signature feature of this cooler is an off-set fin-stack progression, which adds to clearance towards the memory area of your motherboard. Even with its fan installed, Alpenföhn promises clearance for the tallest DIMMs installed on the slot closest to the CPU socket.

Another key feature is its large 130 mm fan with RGB LED lighting. Four multi-color LEDs studded into the inner wall of the fan-frame projects light onto the white impeller of the fan. The fan takes in 4-pin PWM input, spins between 500 to 1,500 RPM, pushing up to 95.4 m³h of air, with a noise output ranging between 8 to 25.8 dBA. The cooler is capable of handling thermal loads of up to 150W. Measuring 130 mm x 74 mm x 159 mm (WxDxH), it weighs 630 g (including fan). The cooler supports most modern CPU socket types, including AM4, AM3(+), FM2(+), LGA2066 (up to 140W), LGA2011(v3), LGA115x, and LGA775.

Alpenfohn unveiled the Olymp premium twin-tower type CPU cooler. This aluminium fin twin-stack cooler features a unique design, in that the aluminium fins of two stacks are slanted in opposite direction to each other, to increase air turbulence, and improve heat dissipation. Six 6 mm thick, nickel-plated copper heat pipes convey heat drawn from a nickel-polished copper base, to the two fin-stacks.

The two stacks are ventilated by a pair of 140 mm fans in push-pull configuration, which each spin at 300-1,400 RPM, take in PWM input, and push up to 123 m³/h, with a noise output ranging between 8-26.8 dBA. The Olymp offers cooling capacities rivaled only by liquid cooling solutions, handling thermal loads of up to 340W. It hence supports all modern CPU socket types, including LGA2011v3, AM3+, FM2+, and LGA115x. A tube of Alpenfohn Permafrost TIM comes included. Measuring 165 mm x 151 mm x 150 mm, the cooler weighs in at 1.2 kg. The company didn't announce pricing.

European PC cooling specialist Alpenföhn announced two additions to its popular Matterhorn CPU cooler series, the Matterhorn White Edition, and Black Edition. This tower-type cooler features a monolithic fin-stack with trapezoid fins, to which heat drawn from the CPU is fed by six 6 mm thick copper heat pipes. Measuring 138 x 100 x 158 mm, the heatsink weighs a little over 1.06 kg. The heatsink is ventilated by an included Alpenföhn WingBoost 2 fan. This 120 mm spinner takes in 4-pin PWM-controllable power, spins between 500 and 1,500 RPM, pushes up to 106 m³/h of air, with a noise output ranging between 18 and 20 dBA. Available now, the two are priced at 52.90€.

With the Brocken 2, the cooling specialist Alpenföhn is serving up another incredible piece of engineering for all hardware enthusiasts out there. Taking the experience gained from the first Brocken cooler, the feedback from thousands of customers and the online community, the Brocken 2 raises the envelope in performance cooling for a single tower cooler.

The result is a premium grade cooler, not too extravagant but with incredible cooling powers, edgy design, excellent quality and a long list of useful features paired with the newly designed 140 mm PWM fan. These aspects lift the new Brocken 2 beyond the pinnacle of the original Brocken cooler.

German company EKL has announced a brand new cooling solution bearing the Alpenföhn brand, an all-in-one liquid cooler called Wasser that's compatible with Intel LGA 2011/1366/1155/1156/775 and AMD Socket AM3(+)/AM2(+)/FM1 processors.

The maintenance-free Wasser features a copper cold plate, a low profile pump, a soft bending tube system and a 151 x 120 mm radiator equipped with one 120 mm WingBoost Pure fan operating at 500 to 1500 RPM (8 - 24,8 db(A) sound output). The cooler's price tag is 69.90 Euro.

Cooling specialist Alpenföhn presents their newest addition to the Matterhorn line of performance coolers. Dubbed the Matterhorn Pure, it focuses on delivering the best possible cooling at the best possible price. Even with its untreated surface, the Matterhorn Pure impresses with the same high quality which Alpenföhn is known for.

Weighing in at a solid 660 grams without a fan, the cooler manages to impress with plenty of heat dissipation area. But Alpenföhn has ensured, that the material used has been employed properly utilizing the same design as the Matterhorn cooler, but leaving out the Nickel plating to allow the cooler to be offered at the best price point possible. The Pure still offers six heatpipes which make direct contact with the heat spreader of the CPU and thus manages to impress with great performance as well.

EKL is now readying a brand new CPU cooler, the Alpenföhn Gotthard featuring a TopFlow design with three cooling zones. The cooler packs six C-shaped (6 mm) copper heatpipes, it comes equipped with one 140 mm (HD bearing) Wing Boost fan, and has support for Intel LGA 775/1155/1156/1366/2011 and AMD Socket FM1/AM3(+)/AM2(+) processors.

The Alpenföhn Gotthard has a recommended price tag of 57.90 Euro and is expected to become available at the end of this month or in early May.

Alpenföhn is aiming at the performance crown under the CPU coolers with the K2. For this, Alpenföhn is employing two cooling towers and ships the unit with two, potent Wing Boost fans. The middle fan with 140 mm is intended to keep the air flow at a maximum, while the smaller 120 mm unit in front is meant to offer maximal compatibility to modern mainboards, while still providing impressive air flow. Those wanting to go even further may install a third fan in the rear of the cooler. The Alpenföhn K2 CPU cooler is available immediately at Caseking.

The cooler utilizes an incredible amount of materials with a massive weight of 1050 grams. Using more mass does not simply equate to greater performance, as only an intelligent use of such will make for a great cooler and this is something the Alpenföhn engineers are certainly experts in. Eight heatpipes are embedded in a Copper, with both aspects featuring a high-quality Nickel plating. On top of that, all contact points between cooling fins, heatpipes and ground plate feature high-quality solder points to maximize the potential of the K2.

Alpenfohn unveiled its latest high-end CPU cooler, the Himalaya. Decked entirely in aluminum and nickel-plated copper, the Himalaya is a large tower-type cooler, with added innovations in the spread of heat pipes through the aluminum fin stack and the arrangement of fins in the stack itself. From the base, six U-shaped nickel-plated copper heat pipes arise, passing through the aluminum fin stack along the length and breadth of the aluminum fins. Fins are arranged in inverted sets of five producing a pattern along the column of the stack, which works to improve heat dissipation.

As a large heatsink the Alpenfohn Himalaya measures 40 x 164 x 55 mm, weighing 880 g. It makes use of a 140 mm Wing Boost PWM-controllable fan that spins between 300 to 1100 RPM with 10 to 19.4 dBA rated noise output. The cooler is compatible with all modern CPU socket types available in the market, including Intel LGA1155, LGA1156, LGA1366, and LGA775; and AMD FM1, AM3+, AM3, AM2+, and AM2. It will be priced at €59.90.

European company EKL's Alpenfohn unveiled the first pictures of its Triglav tower-type CPU cooler. Its heatsink makes use of 'massive' 10 mm thick heat pipes. To put that into some perspective, 4~6 mm thick heat pipes are common, 8 mm thick ones have till now been considered thickest, for round heat pipes. The three 10 mm thick heat pipes are made of nickel-plated copper, and pass through 46 aluminum fins that are arranged in a turbulence-inducing pattern (improves heat dissipation, so fan speed can be lowered at its expense). Ventilation is care of a 120 mm Hydro Bearing fan that features PWM control, spins between 800 and 1500 RPM, with up to 21.4 dBA noise output. The Alpenfohn Trigav is priced at €39.90.

The cooling specialist Alpenföhn presents the successor of the Heidi VGA Cooler. The new cooler called Alpenföhn Peter utilizes twelve heatpipes and offers a much larger cooling area than the Heidi. In addition, the fan rail allows for up to four fans to be installed, so that the Peter is capable of dissipating up to 420 Watt of heat. For a clean look, the entire surface of the VGA cooler has been Nickle plated.

Modern graphic cards are very complex pieces of engineering, always pushing the envelope in speed, power consumption and thermal design power (TDP). In addition to this, graphic cards have to be cooled while keeping the cooling unit within the constrains of one or two PCI slots, so that it does not block any additional expansion slots of the mainboard. To generate the required cooling performance in such tight quarters a noisy high speed fan tends to be the only option.

Alpenföhn is giving final touches to its K2 high-end CPU cooler. The K2 is large-size CPU cooler that resembles the Noctua NH-D14 in design. It uses eight 6 mm thick nickel-plated copper heat pipes that convey heat to two independent aluminum fin arrays. There are two fans that ventilate a fin array each, one pushes air onto the first array, while a second nested between the two arrays, conveys air to the second. Alpenföhn's innovation here is the unique wavy pattern that differently-sized aluminum fins form, probably improving heat dissipation by creating high-pressure areas. The K2 comes with two, WingBoost fans the first one is 120 mm, and the one in the middle is 140 mm. Expect the Alpenföhn K2 to be priced around the €75 mark.

Try not to mistake this for a low-profile CPU cooler, Alpenföhn's latest offering is the Heidi 2 universal graphics card cooler. First pictured at this year's CeBIT event, the Heidi 2 looks more polished and ready to market. Its main heatsink consists of an aluminum fin array to which heat is conveyed by four 6 mm thick nickel-plated copper heat pipes. The 50-odd aluminum fins make for distinct shapes at the edge of the fin array, which improve heat dissipation. The heat pipes converge at a nickel-plated copper base.

The main heatsink measures 144 x 133 x 62 mm, weighing 450 g. Ventilation is care of a 120 mm Alpenföhn WingBoost fan. Cooling specialist EKL unveiled the Alpenfohn Peter, a high-end VGA cooler which the company plans to release at this year's CeBIT event, in March. Visualized in CGI drawings below, Alpenfohn Peter is a large GPU heatsink which could span across the length of most high-end graphics cards. It makes use of two high-density aluminum fin arrays that use a zig-zag fin design to add turbulence and improve heat dissipation. Heat is conveyed to the two fin arrays by six nickel-plated copper heat-pipes that pass through the GPU block. For ventilation, Alpenfohn Peter will be the first VGA heatsink to use two massive 140 mm fans that latch on to it using a PCI bracket with a rail fastening system. With "Sella" Alpenföhn presents a new CPU cooler. Due to the compact size "Sella" offers a perfect compromise between variable applications and excellent cooling performance. The heatsink is based on the award-winning HDC-Technology (Heatpipe Direct Contact). This technology enables a direct heat dissipation through the heatpipes to the aluminium fins which ends up in high thermal performance at a compact size.

The Alpenföhn engineers equipped the cooler with a super silent 92mm PWM fan with a speed range of only 900 - 2.200 rpm. Depending on using the Silence or Power Mode noise and performance can be adjusted to your needs. The "Tool free" mounting system offers highest contact pressure and ensures a solid and safe mounting.

EKL brand Alpenföhn unveiled its newest CPU cooler, the Matterhorn. This cooler measures 138 x 100 x 158 mm, and weighs 1067 g (2.35 lbs). The construction is similar to that of several coolers in its category. A pre-lapped copper base draws heat from the CPU. From this, six heatpipes pass, conducting heat to a block of aluminum fins. The fins have notches that help heat dissipation over the air being blown by an attached Föhn120 Wing Boost 120 mm fan, which spins at 500 to 1500 rpm, with a max noise output of 24.8 dBA. The Matterhorn supports most current CPU sockets including LGA-1366, LGA-1156, LGA-775, AM3, AM2(+). Its price and availability are yet to be known.
