ASUS X38 R.O.G Motherboard Named Maximus

bit-tech.net reports that ASUS has named its next Intel X38 based Republic of Gamer (R.O.G.) motherboard the "Maximus". In the same manner as the previous ASUS P35 Blitz board, there will be two models to choose from: Formula DDR2 and Extreme DDR3. No word yet on features, cooling or just about anything other than a name and the availability will be "early September".

ASUS Prepares X38 Express Motherboard

ASUS is finalizing its X38 Express based motherboard for shipping early next month. The upcoming P5E3 Deluxe supports all LGA775 socket processors, including the upcoming Penryn CPUs. The board only accepts DDR3 memory. ASUS opted to implement two PCIe x16 slots for ATI CrossFire multi-GPU support. The ASUS P5E3 Deluxe has three standard PCI slots. The P5E3 Deluxe also has two PCIe x1 slots. Other notable features of the P5E3 Deluxe include single IDE port, onboard high-definition audio, Gigabit Ethernet and six SATA 3.0 Gbps connectors. ASUS also employs a heat pipe cooling solution to cool the X38 Express. Expect the ASUS P5E3 Deluxe to show up in retail next month.

Asus Details Republic of Gamers Boards

Strategic Alliance Of ASUS And Ability Co.

Asus Motherboards Will Support 45nm CPUs

Asus has provided a list of motherboards which will support Intel's upcoming 45nm CPUs. A broad range of boards and chipsets will be supported, not just boards with Intel's P35 chipset. So some Asus owners may be able to give a sigh of relief if they were concerned they might not be able to upgrade to a 45nm CPU.

Supported chipsets include the P35, 975X, P965, G33, from Intel and the 680i and 650i from Nvidia. Supported boards include models from the P5K, P5B, and P5N series. Some boards may require a BIOS update in order to support upcoming 45nm CPUs. Check the list to see if your motherboard is included.

Asus Xonar D2 Sound Test Preliminary Result

The guys at VR-Zone spent 10 hours last Saturday pitting the new Asus Xonar against a series of other sound cards such as Auzentech X-Meridien, Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 XT, Tokyo Style Envy24 HT 7.1, Creative X-Fi Elite Pro and Creative Audigy 4. ASUS Launches ROG Blitz Extreme Motherboard

In order to cater to increasing demands of gaming enthusiasts for an outstanding gaming performance motherboard, ASUS has today released the brand new ROG Blitz Extreme motherboard. Asustek develops graphics card overclocking tool

Asustek Computer, one of the world's largest producers of computer components, on Tuesday unveiled what it calls "the world's first hardware based real-time overclocking device for graphics cards" along with its new Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT-based graphics board. The tool may be useful for not very experienced overclockers.

Asustek's OC Gear real-time overclocking device should be installed into a spare 5.25" bay and connected to an USB port. Specially developed software will allow end-users to adjust system master volume, graphics processing unit's (GPU's) clock-speed, GPU fan speed using a simple knob as well as monitor GPU temperature and current frames per second (FPS) information.

The EN8600 GT OC Gear graphics card from Asus is equipped with 256MB of high-speed 1ns GDDR3 memory as well as high-performance cooling system, thus, can provide sufficient overclocking potential for those seeking additional performance.

The Asus OC Gear device itself is also compatible with various graphics cards by Asustek Computer, the company said, however, it did not reveal whether the software needed for Asus OC Gear will support other than EN8600 GT graphics boards.

ASUS has launched the latest offering in the LCD market - the ASUS PG221 LCD monitor. The ASUS PG221 is a 22-inch widescreen which incorporates a stylish and innovative industrial design with integrated audio speakers, rich video inputs and USB 2.0 support that turn the PG221 into an ideal multimedia display center. Asus P5K Premium appears

Asus is one of those companies that likes to produce a lot of motherboards, even though they share the same chipset.

Chinese XF forum has some pictures of the new P5K Premium board based on the P35 chipset from Intel. When compared to the P5K Deluxe, it looks like there are some subtle changes. The CPU voltage regulation has been re-worked, for example.

ASUS and Intel Working on $199 Laptop

Taiwanese hardware maker ASUSTeK Computer is working with Intel on a line of notebook PCs priced as low as $199. The new line of notebooks is intended for users in emerging markets and education, said Sean Maloney, executive vice president and general manager of Intel's sales and marketing group. He announced the initiative with ASUSTeK Chairman Jonney Shih during a speech at the Computex exhibition. The new notebooks are similar to Intel's existing Classmate PC notebooks, a line of low-cost machines aimed at schools in developing markets. The notebooks will have an Intel processor and either a 7-inch or 10-inch screen. They will come with Wi-Fi, a solid-state hard disk, and run either Linux or Windows XP.
