Samsung Electronics today announced it will be showcasing 13 innovative projects from its C-Lab program at CES 2022. Samsung will unveil four exciting projects from C-Lab Inside, its in-house venture program, and nine startups supported by C-Lab Outside, the company's startup acceleration program, to the public.

Started in December 2012, C-Lab Inside nurtures employees' innovative ideas while instilling a corporate culture in which creativity is at the fore. The program supports the development of ideas from all areas of the business. Since 2015, Samsung has been supporting successful C-Lab projects that demonstrate great market potential, and facilitating their launch as startups under the C-Lab spin-off policy. Leveraging the success of the C-Lab Inside initiative, C-Lab Outside has been expanding Samsung's support for new ventures to startups and innovations outside of the Samsung network since 2018.

January 5th is when CES 2022 is set to kick off and we've already seen reports of several big brands cancelling their attendance, but according to the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) who are the organisers behind CES, it's not because of Covid, but rather due to the chip shortage. The fact that most countries have imposed travel restrictions and even gone into fairly strict lockdowns seems to have eluded the CTA as its CEO claims exhibitors aren't overly concerned about the virus.

Instead, the reasoning by the CTA CEO goes along the lines of the chip shortage causing issues with prototypes and product samples, so the companies that were planning to attend CES won't have any products to showcase. This seems like some very strange logic, since from what we've seen so far, prototypes and product samples don't seem to be a major concern. That said, the CTA is correct that logistics are going to be a nightmare this year, as shipping delays are not uncommon and are likely to cause bigger problems for the exhibitors this year than anything else. TPU is still expecting to be on location in Las Vegas for next year's show, unless something changes drastically in the next week and half.

Samsung Electronics announced today that select 2022 4K and 8K TVs and gaming monitors will support the new HDR10+ GAMING standard, delivering the immersive, ultra-responsive HDR gaming experience to gamers. The new, cutting-edge HDR gameplay will be unveiled at CES 2022 along with a list of 4K and 8K game titles, all powered by NVIDIA GPUs.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world leader in advanced memory technology, today announced that it has developed the PM1743 SSD for enterprise servers, integrating the PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) 5.0 interface with Samsung's advanced sixth-generation V-NAND.

"For over a decade, Samsung has been delivering SATA, SAS and PCIe-based SSDs that have been recognized for outstanding performance and reliability by leading enterprise server customers including corporations, governments and financial institutions," said Yong Ho Song, Executive Vice President and Head of the Memory Controller Development Team at Samsung Electronics. As the year ends, one of the biggest consumer trade shows, CES, is on the horizon, and manufacturers are ready to present the work that will become real throughout the year. AMD will offer a keynote at the CES 2022 press conference, and we expect to hear more about the upcoming Zen3 processors with 3D V-cache stacked in them. However, what is interesting is that we may listen to more details about Zen4 core. In an exclusive interview conducted by Antony Leather, Forbes contributor and the person behind CrazyTechLab, AMD CTO Mark Papermaster started the hype machine by sharing that AMD will announce some Zen4 core details at the CES 2022 conference.

The desktop RTX 3050 is now rumored to arrive in two variants with the GA106-140 featuring 4 GB of GDDR6 video memory and 2304 CUDA cores while the GA106-150 would include 8 GB of GDDR6 memory and 2560 CUDA cores according to Twitter leaker @kopite7kimi. These two new models will both feature a 128-bit memory bus however further details such as the memory speed or TDP have not yet been leaked. We don't have any information on the MSRP or availability for these two cards at launch but as with all other recent launches we wouldn't expect anything radical. The most likely announcement date for these cards is currently January 4th alongside various other new products from NVIDIA at CES 2022, with availability from January 27th.

January 4, 2022 could be a date of major product announcements by both AMD and Intel as part of their International CES 2022 plans. Both companies will host virtual press-meets on that day, and are expected to unveil several product lines. AMD could shed more like on its Ryzen "Vermeer-S" Socket AM4 desktop processors, possible updates to its Ryzen 5000 mobile product stack; as well as put out some juicy nuggets of info on its future "Zen 4" processors; while Intel will significantly expand its 12th Gen Core "Alder Lake" family across both its desktop and mobile segments, along with more info on its Arc "Alchemist" gaming GPU. The AMD event is slated for 8 AM Pacific, while the Intel one goes up two hours later, at 10 AM Pacific. We will be live-blogging both.

Prominent chip designers like AMD and NVIDIA could bless consumers with a broader offering of their new products as soon as CES 2022 arrives. AMD should present its rumored Rembrandt-H lineup of processors based on the enhanced Zen 3 core, sometimes referred to as Zen 3+. According to the latest report coming from MyLaptopsGuide, Bluetooth SIG has some data entry about ASUS'es upcoming ROG Zephyrus Duo GX650 laptop that integrates AMD Rembrandt-H processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30-series graphics. As the website claims, the heart of this laptop will be AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor built on TSMC's 6 nm manufacturing process. We don't know much about this model, but we expect it to refine the previous Ryzen 9 5900HX.

We again see the rumored NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card for mobile, powering the graphics side of things. This model is supposedly based on GA103S GPU SKU, which is likely tailor-made for laptops in mind and exclusive to them. ASUS has also paired 16 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM with an AMD Ryzen processor, suggesting that Rembrandt-H has a new memory controller in place. This laptop model also has a 16-inch 300 Hz Full HD screen with anti-glare; however, the amount of information ended there. We have to wait for CES 2022 launch to find out more.

Although we did mention the MSI MEG Z690 GODLIKE in our Z690 motherboard roundup piece, until now, we didn't really know what the board looked like, since MSI has been very shy when it comes to sharing details of the board. However, now the company has released a couple of pictures of the board, courtesy of the board winning a pair of CES 2022 Innovation Honoree awards.

We're still short on details of this monster board, as it'll measure 305x310 mm, which almost puts it in SSI EEB territory. The board has what can only be described as a full cover, since outside of the CPU socket and some of the components near it, you really can't see anything. On top of the memory modules, MSI has gone for a display of some kind that seems to display some system information, such as the CPU type and current clock speed. The location of the display doesn't seem to be ideal though, but it's said to measure in at 3.5-inches.

Intel has recently released their first 12th Gen Core desktop processors with the 125 W TDP K-Series and they appear to be preparing to launch the mid-range 65 W TDP chips in the coming months. The i5-12400F is set to feature 6 cores and threads consisting entirely of high-performance cores without any efficiency cores as found in the existing lineup. The processor features a peak single-core clock speed of 4.4 GHz, while multi-core speeds are 4.0 GHz and 3.4 GHz at PL2 and PL1 power limits respectively. The chip features a 65 W TDP/PL1 power rating and an apparent Maximum Turbo Power PL2 value of 117 W.

This processor has reportedly been tested by French publication Comptoir Hardware where it consistently matched or surpassed the Ryzen 5 5600X in synthetic and gaming benchmarks. These benchmarks were run on Windows 11 with DDR5 memory running at an unspecified speed and an AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT GPU. We have recently seen a listing for the processor at a Canadian retailer which lists the i5-12400F for 249 CAD (200 USD) which if true would be a sizable jump from the 157 USD price of its predecessor but still significantly under the 280 USD Ryzen 5 5600X. The Intel Core i5-12400F is expected to be officially announced sometime in January 2022 possibly at CES 2022.

The Intel Core i9-12900HK is the flagship processor for the upcoming 12th Generation Core Alder Lake-P mobile lineup with 14 cores and 20 threads. The processor was recently spotted on Geekbench 5 where it achieved a score of 1851 in the single-core test and 13,256 in the multi-core test which would make it the fastest mobile processor to date. While we have seen desktop processors included in workstation laptops before this processor could be the fastest chip designed specifically for mobile applications with it beating the recently released Apple M1 MAX and previous champion Core i9-11980HK. This potential title may not last long however with Intel expected to follow up with Alder Lake-S mobile processors that could feature up to 16 cores and 24 threads later in 2022. Intel is expected to launch the mobile Alder Lake-P lineup at CES 2022 alongside their Arc Alchemist desktop graphics cards.

The first trace of AMD's upcoming Ryzen 6000 mobile series has recently appeared with a processor of OPN code 100-000000518-41_N surfacing in the UserBenchmark database with the socket listed as FP7 which is the rumored platform for AMD's 6 nm Rembrandt family. The engineering sample features 8-cores and 16-threads with a base clock of 3.9 GHz and a boost of 4.1 GHz along with an integrated RDNA2 iGPU.

This marks the move from Vega to Navi 2 for the integrated GPU which should result in significant graphics performance and efficiency improvements. The processor was paired with a single 16 GB DDR5 memory module from Corsair running at 4800 MHz CL40, the computer is also listed as Corsair Xenomorph which is interesting as we are not aware of any plans for Corsair to release laptops. AMD is expected to announce Rembrandt at CES 2022 and the processors have allegedly already entered production.

The NVIDIA RTX 30 SUPER series is expected to be announced by the company early next year in January at CES 2022. We have now received a list of rumored specifications for the upcoming family from kopite7kimi who correctly revealed the RTX 30 series. The list includes four desktop cards with the RTX 3060 SUPER, 3070 SUPER, 3080 SUPER, and 3090 SUPER. The RTX 3060 SUPER is listed as featuring 5632 CUDA cores paired with 12 GB of GDDR6 memory which is a considerable increase from the 4864 CUDA cores and 8 GB of memory found on the RTX 3060 Ti.

The RTX 3070 SUPER appears to feature less of an upgrade with the core count remaining at 5888 and the memory capacity at 8 GB however this will be upgraded from GDDR6 to GDDR6X. The RTX 3080 SUPER will receive 8960 CUDA and 12 GB of GDDR6X memory compared to the 8704 cores and 10 GB memory on the RTX 3080. The new flagship consumer card will be the RTX 3090 SUPER with an extra 256 CUDA cores for a total of 10752 and 24 GB of GDDR6X memory. These specifications are only rumors with the leaker stating that they doubt some of them so we will have to wait for further leaks until we can know with certainty.

HP recently listed the NVIDIA RTX 3080 SUPER as one of the available options for their upcoming Envy 34 AIO-in-One PC before updating their site to remove the reference. NVIDIA is rumored to refresh its desktop and mobile GPU lineup early next year with the launch of RTX 30 SUPER most likely at CES 2022 in January. The current HP Envy 34 features an RTX 2080 Max-Q mobile card so any potential RTX 3080 SUPER option would also need to be a mobile variant considering the limited cooling capabilities of the AIO. The Envy 34 featured will go on sale next month for 1999 USD ruling out the possibility of it shipping with the RTX 3080 SUPER. While it is entirely possible that this was a simple mistake from HP it could be an indication that the PC will be upgraded to the SUPER model in the near future.

LG has reportedly delayed the release of their first 42-inch 4K OLED TV until CES 2022 according to industry sources talking with Korea Economic Daily (KED). The new TV which has been optimized for gaming on next-generation consoles will be launched alongside the rest of LG's 2022 lineup reportedly "to maximize its marketing efforts rather than unveiling it later this year". The smallest model currently offered by LG in their OLED lineup is 48 inches but they hope this new 42-inch model will better appeal to gamers. The LG OLED lineup is already extremely popular with gamers thanks in part due to features like 4K 120 Hz HDR support with G-SYNC over HDMI 2.1.

Intel has reportedly decided to launch their DG2 Xe-HPG discrete graphics cards at CES 2022 according to Hardware Academy on Weibo. Intel has already begun sampling these new GPUs to partners so this launch date appears feasible. The DG2 Xe-HPG discrete graphics cards are designed specifically for gaming and will offer up to 512 Execution Units paired with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory. Intel appears to be planning five separate DG2 Xe-HPG SKUs covering a large lineup of market segments with the top product competing with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 and AMD Radeon RX 6800. While these products won't be released until CES 2022 Intel may announce gaming processors with integrated Xe-HPG graphics sometime earlier.

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) today announced CES 2022, the world's most influential technology event, will return to Las Vegas next year. Following a successful all-digital CES 2021, CTA will convene the tech industry in-person and digitally, giving a global audience access to major brands and startups, as well as the world's most-influential leaders and industry advocates. CES heads back to Las Vegas Jan. 5-8, 2022, with Media Days taking place Jan. 3-4, 2022.

Some 1000 companies have committed to showcasing their most innovative technologies in Las Vegas and companies are continuing to sign up. Attendees can expect to see global brands including Amazon, AMD, AT&T, Daimler AG, Dell, Google, Hyundai, IBM, Intel, Lenovo, LG Electronics, Panasonic, Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics and Sony. Companies including Caterpillar, Indy Autonomous Challenge and Sierra Space are planning to make a Las Vegas debut in 2022. Eureka Park will return with startups representing countries around the world, including large delegations from France, Italy, the Netherlands and South Korea.
