Corsair Announces Obsidian Series 450D Mid-tower PC Case

Corsair, a designer and supplier of high-performance components to the PC hardware market, today announced the immediate availability of the Obsidian Series450D performance mid-tower PC case. The 450D matches the iconic, brushed aluminum design of the Obsidian series with an increased focus on high-airflow, ensuring your system not only looks great, but runs cool.

Behind the 450D's aluminum mesh intake grill are dual 140mm AF140L intake fans to direct airflow straight to a PC's hottest component, the graphics card. The rear AF120L 120mm fan keeps the airflow moving smoothly and five other optional fan locations give you serious cooling flexibility. The 450D's fan mounts also accommodate a wide range of water-cooling radiators, with room for up to a 360mm radiator in the roof, a 280mm radiator in the front, and a 240 mm radiator in the floor.

Inter-Tech Unveils the ITX E-D3 PC Case

Inter-Tech has today launched a new, aluminum PC chassis, the ITX E-D3. Pictured below, the case measures 260 x 222 x 224mm, it supports Mini ITX motherboards, and features top-placed USB (one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0) and audio ports, one 3.5-inch and two 2.5-inch drive slots, and a pre-installed 120 mm fan (on the top panel).

The ITX E-D3 is backed by a two-year warranty and is listed for pre-order with a price tag just shy of €30.

Xigmatek Launches Midgard III Gaming PC Case with Qi Wireless Charging Point

Xigmatek launched the first PC case with an integrated Qi wireless charging point, so you can charge your Qi-enabled smartphone by simply placing it on top of the case. Quite a few high-end Android smartphones feature Qi, and for smartphones that don't, wireless charging braces exist. The wireless charging dock draws power from a conventional Molex connector, sipping 5VSB power off the PSU, even when the system is shut down. Measuring 260 mm x 515 mm x 409 mm (WxHxD), the Midgard III is made of SECC steel and ABS, much like its predecessors.

The ATX mid-tower seats conventional ATX, micro-ATX, and mini-ITX motherboards, with cutouts near the CPU socket area, and around the board, for managing your cable spaghetti. The motherboard tray has room for add-on cards as long as 33 cm (even more room with the drive cages detached), and CPU coolers as tall as 16 cm. The case offers three 5.25-inch drive bays, and six 3.5-inch/2.5-inch bays spread across two detachable cages of three bays, each. Its cooling system includes two 120 mm front intakes, a 120 mm rear exhaust, a 120 mm bottom intake, and two 140 mm top exhausts, with enough clearance for a 280 x 140 mm radiator. Front panel connectivity includes two USB 3.0 SuperSpeed ports (standard header), two USB 2.0/1.1 ports, and HDA audio jacks. Xigmatek didn't announce pricing or availability.

Lian Li Previews PC-B16 and PC-A61 Cases Ahead of CeBIT

Lian Li posted pictures of prototypes of two of its upcoming cases, the PC-B16 and PC-A61 (pictured in that order). The two will be launched in March, at the 2014 CeBIT. Both cases are based on a common frame design (the same innards), but the PC-B16 has an added level of noise reduction with its front door. Measuring 230 mm x 490 mm x 530 mm (WxDxH), the two dry-weigh around 6.5 kg. Color options include all-black (including interiors); and white (with bare aluminium interiors).

The PC-B16 and PC-A61 feature a unique new drive cage design, in which individual 3.5-inch drive bays can be detached, so you don't have to lose 3-4 bays just to make room for a dual-slot graphics card of abnormal length. Each bay has retention holes for two 9.5 mm-thick 2.5-inch drives. With the drive bays in place, you get room for graphics cards as long as 280 mm. With the bays out of the way, your cards can be as much as 420 mm long. There's room for CPU coolers as tall as 170 mm. Behind the motherboard tray, there's a crawl-space of 30 mm, letting you comfortably manage even the thickest cable your PSU throws at you (the 24-pin ATX). Cooling system on the PC-B16 and PC-A61 include two 120 mm front intakes, a 120 mm rear exhaust, and two top 140 mm exhausts. Lian Li didn't finalize pricing, or even the design for that matter, and is taking in community feedback. Fire away.

SilverStone Releases the RAVEN Z Mini-ITX PC Case

SilverStone Technology has now officially released the newest member of its RAVEN line of PC cases, a SFF (small form factor) model named RAVEN Z (SST-RVZ01). This chassis measures 382 (W) x 105 (H) x 350 (D) mm, it has a steel body and reinforced plastic panels, and features support for mini-ITX and DTX motherboards, a front I/O panel with two USB 3.0 ports, one slim (slot-loading) optical drive bay, one 3.5-inch and three 2.5-inch HDD/SSD slots, space for one SFX power supply and two pre-installed 1,200 RPM fans (top and bottom).

The RAVEN Z costs £56 / €68 and should be hitting stores this week.

Thermaltake Releases the Urban S1 and SD1 Micro Cases

Chieftec Rolls Out New Flyer Series Micro ATX PC Case

Chieftec has now made available a new mini tower PC chassis, a model codenamed FS-01B-U3 that is part of the company's Flyer Series. Seen below, the case measures 420 x 175 x 360 mm and features two 5.25-inch and two 3.5-inch drive bays, support for micro ATX motherboards and graphics cards up to 320 mm long, two front-facing USB 3.0 ports, and a pre-installed power supply.

The FS-01B-U3 with a 450 W PSU is selling for 68.40 Euro. The case has a two-year warranty.

Cooltek Introduces the UMX2 Midi-Tower PC Case

PC-Cooling-owned brand Cooltek is today releasing a new PC chassis, a midi-tower model called UMX2. Pictured below, this steel/aluminum-constructed case measures 445 x 200 x 421 mm and features four front-facing USB ports (two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0), one slim 5.25-inch optical drive slot, three 3.5-inch and two 2.5-inch drive bays, and three pre-installed 120 mm fans (one on top and two on the bottom).

Cooltek's creation has seven PCI slots and supports ATX, micro ATX and mini ITX motherboards, as well as graphics cards up to 280 mm long. The UMX2 is priced at 169.90 Euro.

SilverStone Rolls Out Precision PS10 Mid-tower Case

SilverStone rolled out the Precision PS10 ATX mid-tower case. Designed for silent gaming PC builds, the case features noise-absorbing and vibration-dampening panels. The case offers its silent credentials without compromising on the number of fan-vents today's mid-towers are expected to offer. To begin with, it measures 219.9 mm (W) x 480mm (H) x 521.5mm (D), dry-weighing in at 6.2 kg. Its motherboard tray offers room for graphics cards as long as 292 mm, and CPU coolers as tall as 169 mm.

Drive bays in the Precision PS10 include four 5.25-inch, and five 3.5-inch. The 3.5-inch trays each feature mount holes for 2.5-inch drives. AeroCool DS Cube Now in a Black+White Trim

AeroCool rolled out its Dead Silence Cube (DS Cube) case in a new black+white trim. It sees the sides and rear of the case decked in matte black, while the front and top are decked in matte white, and have a faux-leather finish. The top center panel detaches to reveal a black mesh for the top fan vents. The interiors are completely black. This trim is further available in a window variant, with a rectangular clear acrylic window on the side panel.

The DS Cube is a cubical micro-ATX case with a parallel-to-base motherboard tray. The case measures 381 mm x 265 mm x 411 mm (LxWxH). It offers one 5.25-inch, three 3.5-inch, and two 2.5-inch drive bays, spread apart in three cages. The top cage with the 5.25-inch and exposed 3.5-inch bays is detachable, creating room for graphics cards as long as 320 mm. The motherboard tray offers room for CPU coolers as tall as 190 mm. Ventilation includes a front 200 mm intake, a rear 120 mm exhaust, a top 140 mm exhaust, and another top 120 mm exhaust.

Inter-Tech Introduces the K-six Smart Midi-Tower Case

Inter-Tech has just announced the latest addition to its PC chassis, a midi-tower model called K-six Smart that offers support for ATX and micro ATX motherboards. This new case measures 442 x 195 x 500 mm and has a front I/O panel with USB 3.0 (x 1), USB 2.0 (x 2) and audio ports, nine easily-accessible 5.25-inch bays (that can be converted to fit five 5.25-inch, one 3.5-inch and two 2.5-inch drives), one 120 mm rear fan, and two pre-drilled holes at the back for watercooling tubing.

The K-six Smart is backed by a two-year warranty and is available for pre-order priced at 48.95 Euro.
