Antec Readies Six Hundred PC Case

Antec is readying the newest member of its Hundred series gaming PC cases, the Six Hundred. This is the sixth case in the series, following the Nine Hundred, Twelve Hundred, Nine Hundred Two, Three Hundred, and Two Hundred. This mid-sized ATX tower case is expected to fill the gap between the Three Hundred and Nine Hundred. It measures 491 (H) x 212 (W) x 492 (D) mm, and weights 6.9 kg. There are three exposed 5.25" drive bays, one exposed 3.5" bay, and five internal 3.5" bays. The front bezel provides enough breathing-room for its two front 120 mm fans. The side panel is windowed, and the window is perforated to hold a fan over the expansion slot area of the motherboard. One 120 mm fan ventilates the case from the rear-panel, while a large 200 mm TriCool blue LED-illuminated fan ventilates it from the top. The utility panel that holds buttons, and front-panel connectors is located at the top. The PSU bay is in its rightful place, at the bottom, and two ports for water-cooling tubing are located next to the seven expansion brackets. The Six Hundred is listed for pre-order in Europe, priced at 60.80 EUR.

Sharkoon Intros Temptation M-ATX Case

Sharkoon's newest entry to its case lineup is the Temptation. This slightly cubical case supports micro-ATX form factor motherboards and sits somewhere between being an HTPC case, and a LAN-party case. It measures 245 x 310 x 445 (WxHxD) mm, and weights 4.8 kg. It holds two 5.25" drive bays, one exposed and four internal 3.5" bays. Ventilation is care of a porus side grille, and mounts for two 120 mm fans, one on the rear, and one on a side. Ports for water-cooling tubing are provided. The entire chassis is fabricated with aluminum, and has a premium aluminum front-bezel. Sharkoon Temptation is priced at around 65€.

Ikonik Expands their Case Line-up and Introduces 'The Dial'

Ikonik is introducing a red dial, which is the signature feature of all future enclosures. It allows you to control the included fan speed. EU Fines Intel a Record €1.06 Billion in Antitrust Case

Following the news we covered the other day, the verdict is now in, and as expected Intel has been found guilty and fined €1.06 Billion ($1.45b/£948m) by the European Commission for anti-competitive practices. This fine smashes the €497 million fine issued to Microsoft by the EU in 2004 for abusing its dominant market position. Nine years on from when AMD first made a complaint that Intel had paid computer manufacturers not to use AMD chips in Europe the EU have ruled that Intel had given rebates to manufacturer's if they only used their chips, and had also found that a retailer had been paid to sell only Intel based systems.
"Intel has harmed millions of European consumers by deliberately acting to keep competitors out of the market for computer chips for many years," said Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes, "Such a serious and sustained violation of the EU's antitrust rules cannot be tolerated."

Corsair Venturing Into Cases

Starting off as an ambitious memory products manufacturer in a highly competitive market, Corsair diversified its product lineup at a great pace: liquid cooling, SSDs, power supplies and now PC cases. That's right, Corsair is here to take on market heavyweights in the high-end PC case category, such as SilverStone, Lian Li, and Antec. This is suggested by a photoshoot of an upcoming Corsair PC case, sourced by Hexus.net, which shows a black, compatmentalized, aluminum full-ATX tower.

The pictures show the case to sport a typical design when it comes to placing the various components in the case, that till you find out that a front-door opens up the hard-drive enclosure to give the case hot-swap capabilities. Corsair's yet to be named case might get the spotlight at CeBIT.

HIPER Releases Osiris Gunmetal PC Case

HIPER rolled out the newest addition to its PC case lineup, the Osiris Gunmetal (model: HTC-1G514-A2). As the name suggests, it is a variant of the Osiris mid-tower case with the distinct gunmetal appearance. Its panels and framework have been built with 6063-T5 alloy. All its panels are fabricated to thickness of 2.0 mm (0.08"). It measures 526(L) x 202(W) x 452(H) mm and weighs 8.4 kg (18.5 lbs).

It features five 5.25 inch drive bays that are exposed, an exposed 3.5 inch drive bay and an internal modular drive rack that houses four 3.5 inch hard drives. It features two 120 mm, 1500 rpm fans that ventilate from the rear and the top of the case. The Osiris Gunmetal will reach stores soon, it will be priced at 145€.

Antec Intros NSK 4480 II Mini Tower Case

After releasing the gamer-oriented Nine Hundred Two earlier this month, Antec made the NSK 4480 II official. This case serves as a standards-compliant mini-tower case that uses a simple, professional outlook. It includes the Antec EarthWatts 380W 80-Plus certified PSU. Measuring 420 (H) x 195 (W) x 420 (D) mm, this case provides three 5.25" and two 3.5" drive bays. Internally there are three additional bays for hard drives. The side-panel of this case has three rectangular ventilators. A single rear 120mm Tri-Cool fan provides active ventilation. Along with the PSU, the case weighs around 9 kgs (around 19.8 lbs) and is mostly composed of SECC steel. Backed by a 3-year warranty, the NSK 4480 II comes at a recommended price of US $109.95.

Antec Nine Hundred Two Computer Case Announced

Antec, the global leader in high-performance computer components and accessories for the gaming, PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself markets, has announced that it is launching the Nine Hundred Two, the latest update to Antec's line of high-performance gaming cases. The Nine Hundred Two includes new enhancements designed specifically for hardcore gamers, such as increased cooling and maximized airflow. The Nine Hundred Two is designed to provide maximum cooling for gaming systems, which are known for exuding greater amounts of heat. Cooling features of the Nine Hundred Two include a perforated front bezel for superior air intake, and a massive top-mounted 200mm Big Boy 200(tm) exhaust fan with blue LED illumination. The Nine Hundred Two is also designed with power supply mounts located at the bottom of the case to improve thermal performance, along with HDD cages that act as air ducts for additional air intake.

Sharkoon Introduces Furious mid-ATX PC Case

Following in the footsteps of the popular new Venga and Desperado models, comes a third new case from Sharkoon: The sturdy new Sharkoon Furious in matte black has room for five optical drives, one external 3.5" device, four hard drives and eight expansion cards.

The Sharkoon Furious' stability comes from panels made with 1mm SECC steel and fold-out feet, while included installation rails simplify assembly inside the case. Hard drive installation is particularly easy as the Furious' hard drive cage is rotated 90 degrees so that hard drives slide into the cage perpendicular to the case. The hinged front door as well as the side panel can be locked as needed. Efficient and quiet cooling is provided by vibration-free 120mm fans in the front and rear. The front fan features a filter for dust-free incoming air. Extra cooling is provided by a mesh covered side opening, which also gives users a view of the installed components.

OCZ Prototype Case Spotted at CES

OCZ has been on a roll with diversifying its product range, with memory, data storage, power supplies, gaming peripherals, cooling, graphics cards, and now cases. French website Matbe took a few snaps of a certain prototype full ATX case by OCZ. This case looks like it has drawn inspiration from several popular designs: the Thermaltake Xaser, Armor Plus, and Cooler Master Stacker 830. The prototype is made of steel. It features a control and utility cluster at its top, providing USB, eSATA and FireWire ports. Behind the door are seven 5.25 inch drive bays. By the looks of it, the case will feature several ventilation points for fans. Its availability isn't known at this point. It is expected to be priced around 100 Euro.

Sharkoon Intros Venga Economy Mid-Tower Case

Sharkoon announced today the expansion of its case line-up with an all new midi-ATX tower. The Sharkoon Venga Economy combines a compact and unobtrusive size with an elegant design in modern white or classic black. The front of the case features a high-gloss coating, distinctive rectangular fan vents and silver power and reset buttons as well as HDD activity and system LEDs. On the side of the front panel are two USB ports and audio connectors.

Up to four optical drives and one 3.5" external device can be installed in the front. Inside the case there is room for four hard drives and up to seven expansion cards. Cooling is user configurable with up to four case fans: an 80/ 92/120mm fan in the front, an 80/90mm fan in the rear and two 80mm or one 120mm fan in the side. The case measures 180 x 460 x 410mm (W x D x H).
