BenQ Readies the BL3200PT 32-Inch AMVA Monitor

BenQ is currently preparing the release of the BL3200PT, a 32-inch monitor equipped with a WQHD (2560 x 1440) AMVA panel. This model makes use of Flicker-free technology to eliminate flickering at all brightness levels and also features four blue light reduction modes (Multimedia - 30% reduction, Web-surfing - 50% reduction, Office - 60% reduction, Reading - 70% reduction), an ambient light sensor (to automatically adjust brightness), and a stand enabling tilt, pivot, swivel and height adjustment.

The BL3200PT has a 3,000:1 contrast ratio (20,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio), a 4 ms GTG response time, 300 cd/m2 brightness, dual 5 W speakers, D-Sub, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort 1.2 inputs, plus a USB hub with two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports. BenQ's monitor is expected to ship next month but it's already listed with prices starting at just under 600 Euro.

ASUS Introduces the PB287Q 28-Inch UHD Monitor

ASUS today announced the PB287Q True 4K/UHD (ultra-high-definition) monitor, a 28-inch display designed for prosumers and gamers.

The ASUS PB287Q features a 16:9 aspect 28-inch white light emitting diode (WLED) display that delivers next-generation 4K/UHD visuals, with resolutions up to 3840 x 2160. With a pixel density of 157 pixels per inch (PPI), the PB287Q provides four times the pixel density of standard Full HD displays for astonishingly detailed visuals. With 300% more onscreen space than similarly-sized Full HD displays, the ASUS PB287Q provides a larger area for multiple work windows for more productive multitasking.

Acer Announces the GN246HL 144 Hz Gaming Monitor

Acer today unveiled the GN246HL, a new, gaming-focused 24-inch monitor with a refresh rate f 144 Hz and a response time of just 1 ms. Acer's display makes use of a TN panel and features a an LED backlight, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 350 cd/m2 brightness, a 100,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and D-Sub, DVI, and HDMI 1.4a connectivity.

The GN246HL is set to become available at the end of this month priced at 279 Euro.

Elgato Thunderbolt Dock Goes On Sale

Elgato Systems has today expanded its Thunderbolt-supporting product portfolio through the release of the Thunderbolt Dock. Seen below, this 'all-in-one' dock measures 17.8 x 8 x 2.5 cm and includes two Thunderbolt connectors, three USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, one HDMI 1.4 output (to drive up to 2560x1600-pixel displays), plus a microphone input and an audio output.

Elgato's Thunderbolt Dock comes bundled with a Thunderbolt cable and costs $229.95/€219.95.

Small PC Upgrades Rugged iBrick Computer with Intel's 4th Generation Haswell Mo

Gigabyte To Release A Second, Higher Clocked GeForce GTX 750 Ti Card

Gigabyte Technology has already launched a custom-cooled and factory-overclocked GeForce GTX 750 Ti when the card was made official by NVIDIA, some three weeks ago, but now the Taiwanese company is preparing another model, one with even higher frequencies.

Codenamed GV-N75TWFOC-2GI, Gigabyte's second GeForce GTX 750 Ti has pretty much the same features as the first release (GV-N75TOC-2GI) like the Ultra Durable 2 components, the WindForce 2X dual-fan cooler, and the 2 GB of GDDR5 memory set to 5400 MHz, but it comes with a base GPU clock of 1215 MHz (vs 1033 MHz/1020 MHz of the GV-N75TOC-2GI/stock cards) and a Boost clock of 1294 MHz (vs 1111 MHz/ 1085 MHz). The upcoming card also has dual DVI and dual HDMI 1.4 outputs. No word yet on pricing or a release date.

Iiyama Unveils the ProLite T2452MTS-3 Multi-Touch Monitor

Iiyama today announced a new ProLite Series monitor featuring multi-touch support, the ProLite T2452MTS-3. This 23.6-inch model makes use of optical touch technology allowing two-finger operation and also has an LED backlight, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 2 ms GTG response time, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, two 2 W speakers, and D-Sub, DVI and dual HDMI connectors.

The ProLite T2452MTS-3 is backed by a three-year warranty and costs 36,800 yen (~ 359 USD).

Acer Introduces the K272HUL 27-Inch WQHD Monitor

Iiyama Unveils Four New AH-IPS Monitors

Iiyama has today announced no less than four new additions to its ProLite monitor family - the 21.5-inch XU2290HS, the 23-inch XU2390HS and XUB2390HS and the 27-inch XUB2790HS. All of these models make use of an AH-IPS panel and feature a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 5 ms (GTG) response time, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 250 cd/m2 brightness, dual 2 W speakers, and D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectors.

The ProLite XU2290HS and XU2390HS have a height-adjustable stand while the XUB2390HS and XUB2790HS allow for tilt, swivel and height adjustment. The ProLite XU2290HS (22,800 yen / ~ 222 USD), XU2390HS (24,800 yen / ~ 242 USD), XUB2390HS (26,800 yen / ~ 261 USD) and XUB2790HS (36,800 yen / ~ 359 USD) come with a three-year warranty and will become available in February.

LG Unveils 23.8-Inch 'Cinema Screen' IPS Monitor

LG will soon be releasing (at first in Japan) a new monitor equipped with an AH-IPS panel, the 23.8-inch Cinema Screen aka model 24MP76HM-S. Pictured below, LG's display has a slim (5.6 mm) frame, a blue light reduction mode, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 178/178 degree viewing angles, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and a 5 ms (GTG) response time.

The 24MP76HM-S also features two 5 W speakers, and one D-Sub plus two HDMI connectors. The monitor will become available later this month.

VIA Announces Partnership with Mozilla

VIA announced an official partnership with Mozilla for support and development of Firefox OS for new device form factors. Firefox OS running on APC Paper and Rock has been released with complete, buildable source codes available to developers on GitHub. In order to continue to encourage community support, free APCs will be rewarded to developers that fix a known issue. A full list of issues is available here.

Acer Announces FT200HQL Touchscreen Monitor

Acer America is now offering its FT200HQL 20-inch class LED-backlit display with 10-point capacitive touch for consumers in the United States for an affordable price of $199. The ergonomic design provides an excellent Windows 8 experience for a wide range of environments.

LG to Introduce Newest Premium Monitors at CES 2014

AOC Rolls Out the q2770Pqu 27-inch WQHD Monitor

AOC rolled out the q2770Pqu 27-inch monitor. Decked in black with a matte-black surface, the display is based on a Super-PLS (plane-to-plane switching) panel, and offers WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) native resolution. If offers viewing angles of 178°/178°, response time of 5 ms, maximum brightness of 300 cd/m², and dynamic mega-contrast. Display inputs include dual-link DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI. Also featured is a USB 3.0 hub. The display draws as little power as 29W with its Eco-mode energy saving mode enabled. Expect this one to go for around $500.

BenQ to Release Two New 24-Inch Gaming Monitors

BenQ's Gaming Monitor lineup will soon be expanded to include two new models, the 24-inch XL2411Z and XL2420Z. Both displays pack loads of goodies like BenQ's Motion Blur Reduction technology, Flicker-free technology, refresh rates of up to 144 Hz, a 1 ms response time, the Black eQualizer color engine, and adjustable low blue light levels.

BenQ's monitors also have a W-LED backlight, NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 support, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and VGA, DVI and HDMI connectors. The XL2420Z adds to the mix a second HDMI port, a 2-port USB 2.0 hub, and the S Switch remote controller for fast preset changing and OSD navigation. The XL2411Z and XL2420Z have yet to be priced, or dated.

Philips Releases the Brilliance 231C5TJKFU Touch-Enabled Monitor

Philips has now introduced the Brilliance 231C5TJKFU, a new, 23-inch display featuring SmoothTouch technology (projected capacitive 10-point touch) allowing the use of touch gestures like tap, grab, pinch, rotate, and swipe.

Pictured below, the monitor also has an LED-backlit IPS panel, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 5 ms GTG response time, a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, a 1MP webcam, two built-in 2 W speakers, a 2-port USB 3.0 hub, and D-Sub, DisplayPort and HDMI (with MHL) connectivity. The Brilliance 231C5TJKFU has a recommended price tag of €499.

MSI GTX 780 Lightning Lite Edition Card Pictured and Detailed

As if one GTX 780 Lightning wasn't enough, MSI is currently preparing the release of another such card, a 'Lite Edition' with the same features but lower clocks. The LE model comes with 889/941 MHz Base/Boost GPU clocks while the already-released GTX 780 Lightning is set to 980/1033 MHz.

The GTX 780 Lightning LE also has Military Class components, a 10-layer PCB, a GPU Reactor for improved overclocking stability, a TriFrozr cooler, Pure Digital PWM Control, Twin BIOS, a 16+3 phase power design, and the 'usual' - 2304 CUDA Cores, 3 GB of GDDR5 memory set to 6008 MHz, and dual-DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort output. The card's price tag has not been revealed.
