BenQ announced a new 27-inch LED-backlit LCD monitor, the EW2730V. It makes use of a vertical-alignment (VA) panel with LED-backlit illumination, giving viewing angles of 178/178 degrees. It offers full-HD resolution (1920 x 1080), with a contrast ratio (static) of 3,000:1. VA panels are said to offer better color reproduction compared to TN-film panels. The monitor looks to be very slim, with a piano-black bezel and a brushed metal stand that has the display connectivity. Unfortunately that the biggest picture on the web, of this mysterious display.

Eizo released its first 3D monitor that doesn't require you to put on any kind of 3D glasses. The DuraVision FDF2301-3D is a 23-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) monitor lets you see stereoscopic 3D video with your naked eye. It is an LED-illuminated LCD monitor that includes bidirectional backlight to provide several 3D viewing modes including Side by Side, Anaglyph, and Frame Sequential. Display inputs include two DVI-D and one VESA Stereo Sync port.

Today, BitFenix released the Colossus Venom and Colossus Window, two new variants of its award-winning Colossus enthusiast full tower PC chassis. At this past Gamescom 2010, BitFenix demoed a Colossus with eerie green LED lighting, a striking design that turned many heads at Europe's largest video gaming show. Mitsubishi Electric announced a new premium 27" monitor. The RDT271WV packs a full-HD (1920 x 1080) panel that is LED-backlit, has a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m², 25,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and 6.5 ms response time. Display connectivity includes a Japanese D5 port, DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI. It also packs a set of 3W stereo speakers. Available in Japan, the RDT271WV is priced at ¥52,800 (around $633).

Japanese company Green-House is out with a new 23.6" display, the GH-JLH243SHB. This full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels resolution) display sports LED-backlit illumination, which also thins it down to just 17 mm. Relevant panel specifications include 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 1,000:1 static contrast, 300 cd/m² brightness, 5 ms response time (2 ms GTG). The display includes 2x 1W stereo speakers. Display connectivity includes DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI. It is priced at ¥22,800 (around US $275).

Mitsubishi introduced the VISEO MDT231WG, one of the first 120 Hz monitors that make use of an IPS panel for better image quality. Further, it makes use of LED-backlit illumination for great viewing angles. This 23-inch panel provides full-HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 5.5 ms response time, 350 cd/m² maximum brightness, and contrast ratios of 900:1 CRO, 5,000:1 DCR.

NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today the new 19" MultiSync EA192M and 20" widescreen MultiSync E201W to the desktop product lineup.

I-O Data unveiled its latest monitor, the sleek and stylish-looking LCD-MF221CBR. This WLED-backlit LCD monitor is sized at 21.5-inches, with a power draw of just 18.3W during normal use (27W max.), and offers full-HD (1920 x 1080) resolution with 5 ms response time, an honest-sounding 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (1,000:1 normal contrast ratio), and maximum brightness of 250 cd/m². It also packs 1W stereo speakers. Display inputs include DVI, HDMI, and D-Sub. Pricing is not known, it will start shipping in early November.

ViewSonic has launched its first 24" 3D-LED monitor, the V3D241wm-LED, giving people the opportunity to watch 3D content in full HD. The monitor has been certified by AMD for use with its Radeon range of graphics cards, ensuring maximum compatibility and ease of use. The monitor includes a set of wired active shutter glasses, allowing users with a compatible computer to get started right out of the box.

Using the included 3D glasses, the V3D241wm-LED can display 3D games and movies without any loss of quality by taking advantage of the monitor's 120Hz frame rate and ultra-fast 2ms response time. ASUS announced a trio of full-HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) 27-inch monitors. The VK278Q and VE278Q have LED-backlit illumination with dynamic contrast ratio (DCR) of 10,000,000:1, and the third model, VE276Q, with common CCFL illumination with 100,000 DCR. The VK278Q features a 2 megapixel webcam. All three models give you 2 ms response time GTG, 3W stereo speakers. The VK278Q and VE278Q, and VE276Q are priced at €359, €339, and €329, respectively.

Panasonic Solutions Company, provider of collaboration, information-sharing and decision-support solutions for government and commercial enterprises, today announced the newest member of its Toughbook U1 ultra-mobile PC product family, the Toughbook U1 Ultra. AOC Europe added two new full-HD (1920 x 1080) monitors to its lineup, the WLED backlit e2240Vwa (21.5") and e2440Vwa (24"). The displays sport a transparent bordering on the bezel, and feature nature-inspired motifs on the stand and back. Since there's no CCFL, the heat output is lower, and so lower number of vents. The power consumption is also lower, nearly half that of CCFL-illuminated flat-panels of the same size. Apart from its resolution, the panels feature 20,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 250 cd/m² brightness, 5 ms response time, and display connectors that include DVI and D-Sub. Prices are yet to be announced.

At the IFA event in Berlin, LG introduced four new LED-backlit monitors with IPS technology, of which one is intended to be of professional-grade. The LG IPS2062T, IPS226V, IPS236V and IPS231P are sized at 20", 21.5", 23" and 23", respectively. With the exception of the IPS2062T (which has a resolution of 1600 x 900), all are full-HD (1920 x 1080) ready. All four models have dynamic contrast ratios rated at 5,000,000:1; brightness of 250 cd/m²; and response time of 6 ms. Maximum viewing angles measure at 178°/178°.

While the IPS2062T takes in DVI and D-Sub inputs, IPS226V, IPS236V take DVI, D-Sub and HDMI, the IPS231P lacks HDMI, but has stereo speakers and takes audio in. Another feature that sets the IPS231P apart from the other models is its stand that allows you to adjust its height (by up to 11 cm), tilt, swivel, pivot. LG did not give out pricing and availability details.
