Dynamic maps set in various biomes present both challenges and opportunities for city builders. Players start by picking a map, with each environment presenting its own challenges, climate, and opportunities. Age of Wonders 4 Director Hints that Extra Content is Arriving Soon

Welcome to the first Age of Wonders 4 development diary since release. My name is Lennart Sas game director / studio manager at Triumph. Today we'll be reflecting on the launch, the reception and we are going to be looking forward to the big Dragon Dawn DLC and specifically the free Wyvern Update that accompanies it.

Reflecting on the Launch
Wow! What a launch. For us the Age of Wonders 4 launch has been a dream: both a critical and commercial success. Paradox put out a press release the game is the fastest selling in the series; selling 250,000 units by day four of release. We are very grateful to all the people making this possible. The launch has been a rollercoaster in other ways too of course; some may have seen the user reviews directly after release. This was primarily caused by people not being able to launch the game after purchasing. This was unfortunate and we started investigating and preparing a hot fix which alleviated some of the issue.

Age of Wonders 4 Gets a Bunch of Hotfixes on PC

Paradox Interactive states: "To my fellow Godir. First off, we want to thank you for the awesome release! It's been amazing seeing so many of you finally getting your hands on the game. Many of you have been able to enjoy the game as we intended but there have been difficulties along the way. Over the past few days we've been hard at work to address the most common issues that have popped up. The people on the Hotfix branch have been incredibly helpful in tracking down the Graphics Driver issues and we're now confident in rolling out the fixes at large."

For users with the NVIDIA Graphics cards defined below, that have experienced frequent crashes, we have added a Driver Workaround setting. This setting will be automatically enabled for the affected users and should alleviate the most commonly experienced crashes. May your Pantheons Thrive

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Delayed, Still Coming in 2020

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has been delayed, according to developer Hardsuit Labs (Paradox Interactive makes a cameo here as publisher). The game, which builds upon the original Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines released way back in 2004, aims to provide a "deep, branching storyline; fascinating and amazingly acted characters; the rich universe of the World of Darkness" that can additionally be played in either first or third person perspective. According to the developer, pushing for a Q1 2020 release would mean compromise in those areas, as well as in polish for the final version of the game.

Of course, one other reason for the delay might be the fact that Q1 2020 is already jam-packed with heavy-hitting franchises and games such as the hugely awaited Cyberpunk 2077, the remastered Final Fantasy 7, The Last of us 2, and Doom Eternal, just to name a few. Perhaps the developer (and publisher Paradox Interactive) saw history in danger of repeating itself with the release of the original Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, which went toe to toe with Half Life 2, Halo 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - not the best time to launch a game. That decision eventually led to the shuttering of then-developer Troika Games. Expect the game to still drop around 2020, though no firm release date was set alongside the delay announcement.

Grab a Copy of Shadowrun Returns Deluxe For Free from the Humble Bundle Store

The Humble Bundle Store is giving away a copy of the excellent Shadowun Returns, in its ultimate, Deluxe form. The cyberpunk, turn-based tactical RPG made a splash on its release, bringing about a much needed lease of life to the series, with an interesting setting and storytelling chops. Developed by Harebrained Schemes, which have, in the meantime, been acquired by Paradox Interactive, the Deluxe edition features the base game, The Shadowrun Returns Anthology DLC, and a free Soundtrack download. This offer ceases in one day and four hours, so make sure to make your tactical move now. Don't waste your turn.

Paradox Interactive to Acquire Seattle-based Harebrained Schemes

(Editor's Note: Harebrained Schemes have come out with some of the more interesting story-driven, tactical strategy RPGs in recent times. The world of Shadowrun is an amazing one, but Battletech seems to have become loved by the community as well - and a mech tactical RPG has been missing ever since SquareEnix butchered their Front Mission series by turning it into a FPS slog fest. Here's hoping Harebrained Schemes carries on with its games as it most wants to make them - they've proven time and again they can deliver. Paradox Interactive isn't new to this game, and also have some very strong IPs under their belt. A thriving relationship and development would benefit us gamers for sure.)

Paradox Interactive, a global publisher and developer of interactive entertainment, today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in Harebrained Holdings Inc, sole owner of Harebrained Schemes, LLC, from Harebrained Bag of Holding Inc. Paradox pays a fixed purchase price of US$7,500,000 at the time of acquisition plus an additional purchase price corresponding to 25% of the acquired business' earnings before publishing costs over the next 5 years to the extent such earnings exceed the fixed purchase price. The deal is expected to close by Thursday, June 7, 2018.
