Point of View, the Netherlands-based technology company established in 2000, has officially been declared bankrupt by the court in Oost-Brabant. The company's majority of sales were in Europe, where it served more than 30 European countries. The company also included Point of View Taiwan, Point of View China, Point of View Hong Kong, Point of View France and Point of View United States as additional branches.

The first NVIDIA graphics cards from the company harken back to the FX 5000 series days, with the company being particularly prolific on the 8000 series, with no less than 19 graphics cards ranging from the 8400GS through the legendary 8800GT. The company's products have definitely been on the downside, however, having been relatively popular in the GTX 500 and 600 series' days. Historically an NVIDIA-exclusive AIB partner, the company branched out into other consumer products, such as tablets, laptops and computer accessories. PRC-based Colorful, which started out as (and continues to be) a vendor of wacky, over-the-top GeForce GTX graphics cards, has surpassed industry stalwarts MSI, ASUS and Gigabyte, in terms of graphics cards shipped worldwide this year, according to industry numbers published by DigiTimes. The report notes that Colorful could become the second largest graphics card maker in terms of shipments by the end of the year, next only to Palit (the current leader in terms of shipments).

Colorful has been clocking an average of 500,000 graphics cards shipped per month, and is projected to have shipped over 5 million cards in 2015. The company has currently outsold ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte, and ZOTAC, all of which are multinationals. Colorful has developed a strong brand-image in the Greater China region, particularly in the mainland. With a brand portfolio that includes Galaxy, Gainward, Point of View, and its own namesake, Palit is the biggest graphics card manufacturer by volume. Colorful's motherboard business is accelerating at a similar rate, and the report notes that the company could become "a very big threat" to ASUS and Gigabyte.

I'm at a loss of words to describe what Point of View's 'point of view' could have been, when coming up with a GeForce GTX 550 Ti based graphics card that packs no less than 4096 MB of memory on-card. The company thinks that adding four times the normal amount of memory that runs at half the speed, DDR3 instead of GDDR5, could somehow spice up the specs sheet. Carrying the product code VGA-550-C1-4096, the card's DDR3 memory runs at 1066 MHz (2133 MHz effective) across a 128-bit wide memory interface, while the GeForce GTX 550 Ti runs at 900 MHz core. Its 192 CUDA cores are clocked at 1800 MHz. Point of view did not give out images of the card yet, but we understand it has one each of DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI as display connectors, takes power from one 6-pin power connector, and uses a custom fan-heatsink. The next big part of the card is its full-coverage water block made by Aqua Computer.
