Epomaker at the 2025 International CES: Trio of Compact Wireless Keyboards and Mice

Epomaker brought four of its latest gaming peripherals to the 2025 International CES. We begin our tour with the Epomaker Carbon 60, which as its name suggests, is a 60% format keyboard, with a carbon fiber pattern along its top and body. The keyboard offers three kinds of connectivity—USB, 2.4 GHz RF (1000 Hz polling rate), and Bluetooth 5.0. They included keycaps are PBT. The switches are hot-swappable, and you choose between Epomaker's in-house Mulan or Wisteria Linear switches. Completing its industrial look is yellow pull-tag.

Next up, is the Epomaker Luma84, a slick business-class keyboard which looks like it could go well with a Mac mini or similar-looking NUC. The keyboard features an 84% layout, and comes with low-profile white PBT keycaps. The keyboard comes with an aluminium top and backplate, with a similar curved-edge to a MacBook Pro. Much like the Carbon 60, the Luma84 comes with three kinds of connectivity.

MSI Showcases Force GK600 TKL Keyboards & Versa Wireless Mice at CES 2025

The MSI Forge GK600 TKL Wireless gaming keyboard is making quite the impression at CES 2025—a reported $80 price point is remarkable when cross-examined with the product's specification and feature set. The TechPowerUp team believes that rival brands with equivalently appointed keyboard models would charge a lot more. MSI had three color options on display: Sky, Violet and Pink. The latter was powered up for demonstration purposes—TPU observed RGB lighting and the operational (top-right positioned) status screen. KTT HIFI Linear mechanical switches are factory installed, but users can replace these with their preferred brand/model—the keyboard's hot-swappable PCB design comes into play here.

MSI did not skimp on the keycap front—"robust" PBT material should resist wear and not become shiny over time. The keycap legends are dye-sublimated according to product placards. The Forge GK600 TKL Wireless also comes with gasket mounting and sound-dampening layers—ideal for a satisfyingly rattle-free typing experience. Tri-mode connectivity is mentioned on the spec sheet—comprised of 2.4 GHz wireless, Bluetooth and wired modes. A generous high-capacity 4000 mAh battery keeps things ticking along—ideal for extended gaming or productivity sessions.

Iquinix Shows us a Constellation of Compact Wireless Mechanical Keyboards

Iquinix, at the 2025 International CES showed off a comprehensive lineup of compact wireless mechanical keyboards. These mostly come in compact layouts (65% or less), are backed by high-grade mechanical key-switches, and artisanal keycaps. A common feature with all keyboards is their high apparent build quality, and metal alloy bodies. The OG80 Wormhole is a 55% keyboard with a typewriter-like curvature along which the keys are arranged. Most of these have late-1980s era gray+ivory color schemes, with some mint-green action keys. Keychron Announces K8 QMK V2 TKL Keyboard With Improved Customization and New Switch Options

Keychron, known for its often reasonably priced, customizable mechanical keyboards, has announced the second iteration of the K8 QMK. The new TKL (80%) keyboard sports updated internal materials for added sound dampening. The new K8 QMK is available with the usual selection of mechanical switch types and two different frame designs, catering to different market segments. Compared to the original K8 Wireless, the K8 Wireless V2 has updated Bluetooth connectivity, QMK support, and new, custom Keychron switches.

The new Keychron K8 QMK V2 shares many similarities with its predecessor, including the same $99 starting price, although there are some differences that are likely to make V2 an attractive option for mechanical keyboard enthusiasts. The biggest physical change is the move from shine-through OEM profile ABS keycaps to shine-through double-shot Cherry profile PBT keycaps, which are bound to be a mixed bag in enthusiast communities. On the one hand, many enthusiasts prefer the sound of ABS keycaps, but the Cherry profile is often highly regarded for comfort and ergonomics. While the external physical changes are mostly rather moderate, the internals have been significantly more impressive, with QMK firmware—and Keychron Launcher customization support—being the most important of the functional changes. That QMK support apparently comes at a cost, though, since the new Keychron K8 QMK V2 comes with the same battery capacity but significantly lower battery life when connected wirelessly, despite the move from Bluetooth 5.1 to Bluetooth 5.2. Keychron claims that the K8 QMK V2 can last up to 190 hours on Bluetooth without backlighting and up to 100 hours with the backlighting at its lowest brightness. Meanwhile, the original K8 is capable of up to 240 hours with the backlight off, with RGB backlighting coming in lower than the new K8 QMK V2, at up to 72 hours with the backlight enabled. The K8 QMK V2 also has new inner foam layers for sound dampening, which might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it helps provide more customization options.

Drop + The Lord of the Rings Rohan Keyboard Returns

Meet the Drop + The Lord of the Rings Rohan Keyboard: a heroic typing staple sent from our stables in two styles, each inspired by the kingdom of horsemasters. Choose from the brown Edoras or the green Aldburg, named after the Riddermark's two biggest cities—and adorned with pad-printed artwork from OSHETART depicting a Rohan-inspired seal your entire desk can rally around.

MUSTER THE ROHIRRIM—IN 2 COLORWAYS
And like the great gathering of the Rohirrim before the Battle of the Pelennor Fields—these keyboards are sporting something of an army themselves. That army comes in the form of a newly created DCD-profile keycap set (in matching green or brown) featuring a host of Rohan-inspired novelties designed by OSHETART—including galloping horses, a cavalry helmet, the beacons of Minas Tirith, and iconography from Anglo Saxon culture: an inspiration for Rohan. Throw in tactile Holy Panda X Switches paired with our nearly silent Phantom Stabilizers, and you're ready to type—type now, for ruin, and the world's ending.

EPOMAKER Keyboards at 2024 CES: V87, RT100, and Alice 98, and Corded Cables

EPOMAKER at the 2024 International CES showed off its recent gaming peripherals. The company specializes in retro-futuristic looking keyboards that look like they're from the 1980s, but are backed by modern tech. Our tour begins with the CIDOO V87, a TKL wireless keyboard with matte linear key switches, an aluminium unibody chassis, a programmable metal rotary knob, and dye-sublimation PBT keycaps. It supports RF + Bluetooth + USB-C connectivity, and a 3,000 mAh battery with fast charging can run the keyboard for days with its lighting.

Next up, is the RT100, a 95% (97-key) format mechanical keyboard, featuring a gasket-mounting ergonomic design, flexible choices of key switches between Gateron and EPOMAKER (in-house); and 3 connectivity options. Pay attention to the stub near the Esc key—it has a little multi-color LED display that can be used to put out real-time monitoring stats. The EPOMAKER Feker Alice 98 is modeled after the early-1990s Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard that sees the main key cluster split and angled into two; except with all the "modern amenities," such as pre-lubed mechanical key switches, RF + Bluetooth + USB-C interfaces, and more. There is a variant with an off-white CNC aluminium top-plate, and another with a small programmable screen. Lastly, EPOMAKER displayed its MIX Pro retro-futuristic USB-C cable meant to mimic the coiled cord look of keyboards from the 1980s.

HYTE Keeb TKL Keyboard Hands On

The HYTE Keeb TKL design is, in many ways, reminiscent of early-2000s Apple iMacs that used clear polycarbonate to frame everything from the monitors to their keyboards; albeit they didn't have any lighting to go with it. That's not the case with the Keeb TKL, though. Called the "Crystal Bubble," a large overarching polycarbonate frame surrounds the main keyboard top-plate. this is studded with 155 qRGB LEDs, with the polycarbonate acting as a diffuser. Another stand-out feature is the dual magnetic rollers, that are programmable using the HYTE Nexus software. You can use this to quickly cycle weapons in a game, or so. The main switches are Krytox lubed HYTE Fluffy Lavender Linear types; while the media/macro keys located near the magnetic roller assembly are low-profile Flappy Paddle Tactile ones. When it goes on sale later this year, the HYTE Keeb TKL will be priced at $180.

A sleek sculptured shell is fused with a mesh pattern and a distinct ghost-like colorway to deliver a scary fast, ultra-lightweight, high-performance mouse, while an esports form factor keyboard shines bright through a translucent colorway. Add unrivaled RGB illumination to both and the Limited-Edition Ghost Collection makes a deadly combination.
