These are connected to a SATA AHCI controller, with a USB 3.2 Gen 2 upstream link that has 10 Gbps bandwidth, and support for UASP (USB-attached SCSI). A type-C cable is included with the DAS. The drive cage is cooled by a 120 mm fan that draws air through the caddies, and exhausts from a vent at the back. TerraMaster says that it put a design focus on optimizing this fan, and reducing the noise and vibration of the device with a full-house. It's important to note here, that the DAS has no RAID function, so each of the four disks and their volumes are individually mounted by the host. There are link/activity LEDs for each drive.
