Ayaneo's AM01S is a mini PC with a built-in articulating touch-screen and a design inspired by '80s and '90s retro computing. For 2025, the AM01S has received a number of choice upgrades that make it both more powerful and more compatible. The headline feature updates for the AM01S are the new AMD Strix Point Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and the new display, which features a number of improvements over the Ayaneo AM02. The basic specifications also include DDR5-5600 RAM and an M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 SSD for storage, with an SDXC card slot on the side for migrating files and expanding storage. Ayaneo has yet to announce pricing or expected availability for the AM01S, but the mini PC looks to be officially launching soon.

The 4-inch touchscreen in the Ayaneo AM01S is a native horizontal display, as opposed to the rotated vertical display from the AM02, which means it should present no compatibility issues similar to those that plagued some Lenovo Legion Go and Valve Steam users when those devices first launched. The tiny display also supports Windows extended mode, meaning you can operate the AM01S using only the small touchscreen—another improvement over the AM02, which could not use the built-in display as the primary screen. The display is attached to the retro-inspired case with a hinge that allows for 90° of articulation, so the mini PC can be used flat on its side or vertically, in which case it looks something like a CRT-equipped Macintosh computer. Ayaneo even cheekily uses a colored version of the cursive "hello" text often featured on the original Macintosh advertising materials. The idea seems to be that users will use the secondary touchscreen to display system information, run diagnostic apps or widgets, or simply as an aesthetic add-on. Ayaneo also pre-installs its AYASpace v2.5, which contains a custom control center for things like TDP control and performance monitoring.

The new Xeneon Edge is a 14.5-inch LCD touchscreen that's meant to be installed in the gap between your main monitor and the base of its stand or table as shown below. The concept borrows heavily from automobiles. Imagine the monitor is your windshield, and the Xeneon Edge is your instrument cluster. It plugs into HDMI (for display input) and USB (for the touchscreen HID), or can even plug into a USB-C that passes DisplayPort through. The display has a fairly high resolution of 2560 x 720 pixels, and can be used to display and input a variety of widgets as shown in the example below. For gamers, this could mean pushing your HUD or simulator dials down to this, freeing up FOV on your main display. The touchscreen takes up to 5 points of multitouch. The display has a magnetized rear, and can be made to latch onto one of the metal panels of your case à la HYTE Y70 Touch, as shown below. Corsair plans to make the Xeneon Edge available in Q2 2025.

Ajazz had a brisk show in its Computex 2024 booth, with the main attractions being keyboards with large touchscreens. The first one is a low-profile mechanical keyboard with a 5-inch (well, 4.9-inch) true-color capacitive touchscreen. The keyboard has physical dimensions comparable to the 85% format, but has a 75% layout, with that touchscreen located where you'd expect the Numpad to be. But that's not the strangest contraption, it's actually the Smart Screen Mechanical keyboard. This is also a 75% keyboard, but with a 10.1-inch rectangular screen with a crazy aspect ratio. You plug the keyboard to your PC, and this display as an HDMI device, and basically give yourself a second screen that prove useful for mapping macros in games, or even during creative work. It's just that the keyboard looks like a computer from the 1980s.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect about these keyboards with touchscreens, is that they're not all that expensive. The keyboard with the 10.1-inch screen, for example, is priced under $50. It's quite possible to pull off these prices if you're digging into the spare parts bins of smartphones. Don't need the big touchscreens? Ajazz has one with a tiny LED segment display.

Iiyama introduced four new 17-inch monitors with the 5:4 aspect ratio, featuring native resolutions of 1280 x 1024. The company is going after the kiosk markets with these displays. Among the models launched are the ProLite T1731SR-2 (and its white variant), the ProLite T1731SAW-2, and the ProLite T1732MSC-B1X (pictured in that order). The ProLite T1731SR-2 offers single-point resistive touch, the ProLite T1731SAW-2 also offers single-touch, but using the ultrasonic method, so your fingers needn't physically push against the panel (good hygiene), and the ProLite T1732MSC-B1X offers 10-point capacitive multi-touch. All four feature 1,000:1 static contrast ratio, 80°/85° (V/H) viewing angles, DVI and D-Sub inputs, 2W stereo speakers, and dimensions of 387 mm x 201 mm x 342 mm (WxDxH).

Although the SD240ML is noted as a Marine Display, it is also well suited to other applications and industries including transportation, public safety, utility, military and industrial automation. Standard Video Inputs include HDMI, VGA and Composite. The PCT (projective capacitive touch) interface uses a standard USB connection. Typical operating power is less than 50 watts using a 9-36V DC input power supply. Rear mounted waterproof connectors support standard mating cables as well as the included waterproof cable set. A dual ended waterproof cable set is optionally available for applications that require sealed connectors at both the display end the connecting computer end. Screen brightness of 0-100% is controlled with a front or rear mount potentiometer. Several mounting options are supported including VESA arms, and console/panel mounting using removable bezel brackets.

Acer America today announced the availability of its first touchscreen Chromebook, the new Acer C720P, a new model in the Acer C720 Chromebook line that was introduced last month. The new C720P provides the many benefits of touch on the device's 11.6-inch HD LED back-lit display to take advantage of the Chrome interface.

"Our new touchscreen C720P gives customers an intuitive way to browse sites online, enjoy apps, and do more with the Chromebook," said Arif Maskatia, CTO for Acer. Japanese display maker Iiyama rolled out the ProLite T2336MSC, a 23-inch touchscreen monitor featuring an AH-IPS LCD touchscreen with LED backlighting, and 10-point multi-touch. The screen is suspended by an armature that can let you tilt it to an ergonomic drawing/writing position. It features a ruggedized 7H glass panel to put up with heavy touchscreen usage. As a display, the ProLite T2336MSC features full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 5 ms (GTG) response time, 225 cd/m² maximum brightness, and 5,000,000:1 ACR. Display inputs include DVI, HDMI, and D-Sub. Other features include an Eco Mode, which reduces power consumption by up to 38 percent, and 2W stereo speakers that take input from 3.5 mm jacks and HDMI. The T2336MSC will launch around mid-October.

Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, will introduce a new 32-inch-class (31.5" diagonal) LCD LED monitor, the PN-K322B. The thinnest in its class, this professional-use monitor features a Sharp developed high-sensitivity, high-precision touchscreen and delivers 4K Ultra HD resolution (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) - four times the pixel resolution of Full HD.

As previewed at InfoComm and CE Week earlier this summer, the PN-K322B is Sharp's latest 4K Ultra HD monitor. Its high-precision touchscreen allows accurate onscreen handwriting of fine text and lines, with writing performed via a dedicated touch pen with a pen-tip width of just 2 mm. The display also supports up to 10-point multi-touch operation.

Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced its completely redesigned Qosmio X75 enthusiast-class laptop and PX35t All-In-One Touchscreen Desktop Computer, two powerful entertainment hubs equipped with 4th generation Intel Core processors.

"These entertainment-driven PCs are designed to help consumers do more and be more productive with Windows 8," said Carl Pinto , vice president of marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. In addition to the HDPD-SUT series durable hard drives, I-O Data rolled out the LCD-MF223FBR-T, a 21.5-inch touchscreen monitor for Windows 8 PCs. The monitor features an ergonomic stand, which lets you tilt it to make touch actions more comfortable. It features a 5-point multi-touch surface, letting you perform complex touch-based UI gestures. Its surface features an durable 8H glass surface, which is tested to withstand the drop of a 227 g iron ball from a height of 145 cm.

Purely as a monitor, the LCD-MF223FBR-T features a TN-film panel that provides 170°/160° (H/V) viewing angles, 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, 1000:1 static contrast ratio with dynamic mega-contrast, 220 cd/m² maximum brightness, 5 ms response time, and a typical power draw of 18W. Display inputs include DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI. A USB 2.0 connection relays touch input. Accessories include 2W stereo in-built speakers. Measuring 516 × 132~324 x 384 mm (WxDxH), the display weighs 4.7 kg. It is slated for market release by the end of April.
