Edge 34" & Edge 40" Ultrawide QHD Monitors
Available in 34" and 40" sizes, these monitors offer a 3440x1440 Ultrawide QHD resolution. Designed to provide high-quality visual experience Edge Ultrawide monitors combine stunning aesthetic with a widescreen perfectly suited for side-by-side multitasking, or longer programs like video editors that get constrained on traditional 16:9 monitors. Perfect for business and home office setups, these monitors adorn a robust in-built USB-C Dock with secure Ethernet and 65 W PD and support PIP-PBP functionality. These 4K portable monitors, resembling large iPads, come with protective cover to safeguard the screen while it is carried around. The cover folds out into a little stand. They also include a separate folding stand which magnetically attaches to the back of the monitor and provides greater stability for illustrators. They support pressure-sensitive stylus input, multitouch and are colour accurate (100% Adobe RGB). They can connect with a single USB-C cable from user's laptop, tablet or phone, which also powers the monitor unless a separate USB-C power source is connected. Users can also connect with Mini HDMI. Many monitor panels are "cut-offs" from when monitor panels are made, which is why we've ended up with all the weird ultra wide panels, as it's what they can't use to make a TV out of.
The higher-resolution ones are in general not, so they have dedicated production lines, which costs more.
The size and resolution you want might end up being sub-optimal based on how large the sheets of glass are and would then again cost even more to manufacture, as there's more waste.
So yes, they would cost more.
Again, the reason we ended up with 16:9 is the same reason as above, they could cut more panels out of each large sheet.

Yes, companies can make different resolution on the same size substrate, since we have 1080p, 1440p and 4k 27" displays for example, but with a nice price increase per step.
As for the specifics of what you want, I couldn't tell you exactly why we've ended up something like multiple resolutions at 27", but not at 34" or some of the other sizes.
