According to MSI's "Blind Box Of Lucky" landing page, ten exclusive designs—including a rare Maoi secret edition—were produced and then (randomly) bundled into VANGUARD Launch Edition packages. VideoCardz reckons that majority of Lucky Dragon VANGUARD boxes were sent to reviewers and influencers, so it could be challenging for mere mortals to accumulate a qualifying tally of cute plastic mascots.

As disclosed by HKEPC (a Hong Kong-based organization), one individual has gone to great lengths to complete the set: "a Taiwanese netizen posted in the HKEPC DIY group, hoping to purchase the 'Lucky Dragon' at a high price of NT$4,000 ($121 USD). After inquiry, it was learned that this is related to an event currently being held in Taiwan. As long as you collect 9 different Lucky Around the World Dragons before May 31, 2025 and keep the outer box, Taiwan Original Price House will exchange them for an MSI RTX 5080 VANGUARD graphics card worth NT$43,990 ($1332 USD), and there is no limit to the number of cards you can exchange." As of late January, the editor of Cool PC—a Taiwanese media outlet—was seeking to complete their set of MSI "Lucky Around The World" dragon collectibles. They used their news section to send out a personal request to readers: "when he has collected 9 of them, he can exchange them for a GeForce RTX 5080 at Original Price House!..The editor likes it very much, and is willing to exchange it with the lucky person who has collected a set of 9 different Lucky Around the World Dragons."

An even fancier golden variant exists—as a reminder; news outlets picked up on the existence of a "Dhahab" model early last month. This luxuriously decorated collector piece was likely introduced as a regional exclusive, for MENA (Middle-East and North Africa). This week, ASUS managed to sneak one gold encrusted sample out to San Francisco, California.

Ernest Cheng—Director of Marketing at the firm's North American branch—shared a photo (via LinkedIn) of the very unique ROG Astral RTX 5090 Dhahab OC Edition model; freshly scribbled on by Jensen Huang during GTC 2025. Donny Fillerup—founder and owner of Consolevariations—hit the jackpot around mid-2023; he managed to track down an extremely rare demonstration model. "Space World" units are highly-coveted—only a handful still exist—due to unique origins. Nintendo officially introduced its GameCube console at Space World 2000—a first-party-oriented annual trade show (defunct since 2001).

Vintage console curators believe that Nintendo repurposed many of its initial batch of "Space World" prototypes, but a few examples have escaped into the wild. Fillerup's ownership of a "one-of-a-kind legendary" indigo sample is seemingly coming to an end—mid-week, gaming press outlets received tip-offs regarding an eBay auction (de-listed at the time of writing). The Consolevariations boss is engaged in fundraising endeavors—according to the item's description, he wants to turn his hobby into: "a foundation business. A Gaming place where the entire family can enjoy, people can meet other people, talk with people who feel uncomfortable with other people, and make the visitors feel young again." Fillerup's asking price was $100,000, with a required $1 fee for economy-class shipping. His prized-possession sports some "battle damage" and is completely non-functional—a Consolevariations blog entry does an effective job of showcasing the "ins and outs" of this "First Announcement Model." The eBay listing did not mention any bundling-in of a matching Space World-era controller, another treasured rarity.

Gplay.BG's YouTube channel uploaded a fascinating video feature over the past weekend—providing another look at PowerColor's Radeon RX 9070 XT Red Devil special edition retail package. The Bulgarian retailer's CEO—Ivan Hinov (aka DonBrutar)—appeared to have a sealed box in-hand. Gplay's presentation implies that they have joined the ranks of other European shops having RDNA 4-based cards in-stock, although VideoCardz reckons that special/limited edition Red Devil bundles (of recent generations) are normally distributed to media outlets. Hinov repeatedly referred to one of VideoCardz's recent news articles—regarding a speculated AMD Radeon RX 9070 GPU series launch window. Industry insiders reckon that AMD had—initially—formed a release strategy focusing on late January, possibly on the 23rd. The new cards will be launched around March time, according to an official Team Red statement.

Gplay's video provides some extra insight on this topic—Hinov confirms (in a roundabout way) that his company received information about a January release window, prior to Team Red's announcing of a postponement. The VideoCardz insider network discovered possible launch MSRPs of: "around $899 for the RX 9070 XT, and $749 for the non-XT." Interestingly, Gplay's chief commented on these rumors during his comparison segment: "delay of the Radeon RX 9070 (non-XT) and Radeon RX 9070 XT has created uncertainty. These cards were expected to launch at prices significantly higher than the Radeon RX 7800 XT and close to the Radeon RX 7900 XT, which makes little sense. For example, the Radeon RX 9070 XT was rumored to cost 500 BGN (~$269 USD) more than the RX 7900 XT while offering only marginally better performance. This pricing strategy was a clear mistake."

Assassin's Creed Shadows has had a bit of a rough time of late, with Ubisoft initially pulling out of the Tokyo Game Show entirely and delaying the launch of Shadows to February 2025, attributing its absence at the show to the buggy, incomplete nature of the 2025 entry into the Assassin's franchise. In the announcement confirming the launch delay and the Tokyo Game Show Absence, Ubisoft also communicated that it would be shaking up the Assassin's Creed launch and monetization strategy significantly. Apparently as part of that monetization switch-up, Ubisoft has also changed the price of the Assassin's Creed Shadows Collector's Edition, cutting it by a whopping $50.

Ubisoft confirmed the price change on Discord in an official Q&A, announcing that, due to dropping the three-day early access that Collector's Edition buyers would originally have received, the Collector's Edition would now cost $229.99 instead of the previous price of $279.99. Meanwhile, the Collector's Edition will still include all the other paraphernalia and real-world loot that it originally bundled. The aforementioned delay and changes to the monetization strategy not only saw the cancellation of the Season Pass model previously used by Ubisoft, but it also meant that all Assassin's Creed Shadows players would also get the game's first expansion for free along with the base game.

The upcoming special edition flagship Raptor Lake Refresh SKU is expected to launch midway through next month—DirectDial's product page mentions that the item is a "New Arrival," with its status listed as "backordered." The BX8071514900KS part code also appeared on PC21 France's online store—confirming that both places will be offering Intel's retail packaged version. Canadian customers could be paying CA$1005 (~$740 USD) on launch day—the French leak outed a possible initial price of €768.34 (~$828 USD).

An MSI "Ruan Mei" special edition GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM X model has been teased by hongxing2020 on social media—it is not clear whether this is an intentional leak, given the formal office setting photographed in the background. Seemingly finalized retail packaging, heavily updated shroud plus backplate designs, and bundled poster and mousepad merchandise are emblazoned with a 5-star rated Honkai: Star Rail character. As noted by VideoCardz, the web link displayed on MSI's accompanying poster would indicate that the special green and gold special SUPRIM X model is destined for the Chinese PC hardware market—where miHoYo's Honkai games franchise is super popular.

The MSI GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM X "Ruan Mei" special edition's packaging does not make a distinction between the onboard GPU being a US sanction-compliant NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 D variant, or the original + uncompromised AD102-300-A1. Perhaps it is safe to assume that a first quarter 2024 launch model will sport ever so slightly downgraded internals—MSI has already prepared their standard silver range-topping GeForce RTX 4090 D SUPRIM X model for the region. A small batch of Ruan Mei limited editions could arrive at a later date, once the the standard card has cleared the way.

Memory PC GmbH has unveiled an exclusive reskin of Sapphire Technology's standard PULSE RX 7800 XT graphics card—the German e-tailer is advertising this special edition model as a "world first," with a design that is both "unique and eye-catching." We reckon that there is some marketing spiel + exaggeration in effect here, although Memory PC's branding, messaging and extra swathes of red and white do add up to be a more visually appealing package. Sapphire's PULSE card designs tend to focus on function rather than fancy livery—the normal PULSE RX 7800 XT card is almost entirely black, save for some red line accents on its shroud and backplate, plus white text on the twin cooling fans.

This special model sports white PULSE fans with abbreviated Memory PC logo branding, while the shroud has red and white stealth-effect polygonal patterning. This effect adorns almost the entire stretch of backplate, a pixellated heart graphic and a "WE LOVE GAMING" statement sit within an island of black. The Memory PC + Sapphire Technology Navi 32 XT GPU collaboration is only available in pre-built PC systems—starting at €999, with an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X build.

OSIM, the Singapore-based maker of massage chairs and wellness products, unveiled two innovative new massage chairs at CES 2024—the uLove 3 Yellow and the uThrone V Yellow. The uLove 3 Yellow builds upon OSIM's popular uLove series, featuring 18 patented massage technologies for a customized and therapeutic experience. Key highlights include the V-Hand Plus system, which mimics a masseuse's techniques to target knots and tension, air pressure massage to relax the body, and foot reflexology rollers. With multiple auto and manual programs, uLove 3 provides a spa-like massage tailored to one's needs. However, OSIM has entered the arena of massage chairs for gamers and esports enthusiasts. The company presented the uThrone V Yellow massage gaming chair. "Throne and Liberty" is Amazon's foray into big budget fantasy MMORPGs, and is being licensed to manufacturers of PC hardware and gaming peripherals. GIGABYTE unveiled two such pieces of hardware, the Z790 AORUS Elite X Throne and Liberty Edition; and the GeForce RTX 4070 WindForce OC Throne and Liberty Edition. Both products come in fancy Throne and Liberty co-branded boxes. The Z790 AORUS Elite X special edition gets Throne and Liberty decals on its large CPU VRM heatsinks. The RTX 4070 WindForce OC special edition gets such decals on its backplate, and has themed fan impeller hub stickers. The two products are otherwise identical to their originals. Throne and Liberty went live on December 7.

GALAX is a much older brand than it looks, dating back to 2003, when it did business as "Galaxy," selling custom-design GeForce 400 series graphics cards with its signature shade of deep blue for the PCB, and Zalman-sourced coolers. The company is celebrating its 20th anniversary, at least in its largest market of China, where it launched a special edition GeForce RTX 4070 Ada graphics card, called simply the 20th Anniversary Edition.

The card features an all-white look, and an interesting cooler airflow design. The card is no more than 2 slots thick, and features a slender aluminium fin-stack heatsink. Two of its three fans are located on the obverse side of the card.
