A Closer Look
The camera is larger than your consumer web cam. There is a mounting hole on both the top and bottom, so you may hang it from the ceiling or place it upright on a table.
The front only houses the lens and a light sensor. There are two LEDs for power and link activity. On the back you will find an Ethernet plug which is capable of up to 100 MBits/s, a reverse SMA connector also found on many routers and a DC in for the power brick. The little black dot is the small reset button, one more feature similar to today's routers.
Assembling everything is straight forward. If the two dbi antenna is not strong enough, you can buy a fairly cheap 5 or 7 dbi one online and attach it to the WL-5400CAM.
