RAID Operations
I perform RAID sync operations during which I measure the time the NAS needs to complete these tasks—average power consumption for these rebuild and synchronization periods is also measured. In NAS servers with four bays or more, I rebuild and sync RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 6 arrays, while in smaller two-bay NAS servers, I am confined to a RAID 1 array. To produce comparable results, the Bitmap option is disabled in NAS servers that support it because it speeds up RAID rebuild times.
