AVerMedia Flexi Go Microphone Arm

The Flexi Go is a $100 multi-angle microphone arm. With its compact and versatile design, it's a natural pairing to the Versati Go microphone, although some might find it hard to deal with the fact that the arm costs more than the microphone.

The arm ships completely assembled, so the only thing you have to do is pull it out of the box and attach it to the table with a C-clamp mechanism. The clamp can be extended for up to 55 millimeters - that's the maximum supported table thickness.

The tube-style aluminium arm has three adjustable joints. The bottom joint has a 180° tilt and 360° swivel. The middle joint offers 360° vertical tilt, and the top joint has a horizontal 360° rotation and vertical 180° tilt. They're secured with easily accessible fasteners. Repositioning the microphone can be done in a matter of seconds, especially after you get used to the way that the arm moves. The joints are strong enough to hold a weight of up to 1.5 kilograms, which includes all AVerMedia microphones, as well as various webcams, key lights, phones and tablets (phone and tablet mounts aren't included), digital cameras and other devices with either a 1/4" or 5/8" thread.

AVerMedia dubs the Flexi Go a "multi-angle" arm. With that they're pointing out the fact that it can be used both in low-profile and a more common high-profile position, depending on what suits your setup best.

It's an excellent product, with one drawback directly caused by its compact nature: it has a short reach. In low-profile mode, the arm extends for a mere 60 centimeters. In my setup that means it can't even reach across the table. If you're wondering why it's clamped to the front of the table on the photos, that's the reason. Some might also be disappointed by the lack of an integrated cable management system, but you do get a pair of hook and loop tapes, which will help you hold your device cable at bay.
