The be quiet! Light Base 600 LX is noticeably more compact and also much lighter than the 900 variant, clocking in at just over 12 kg including the fans vs. at least 16 kg for its larger brethren. The black variant is actually all black, while the white version sports a gray strip. You still get the same unique looks with the four rows of ARGBs and the ability to place the case on its side or upside down as well.

From the front, the left two thirds are all glass, with a clean black frame on three sides. The plastic strip next to it is also where you will find the IO, which consists of two black USB-A 3.0, one black USB-C and an audio combo jack. On top of that, the Light Base 600 LX has a dedicated LED toggle as well as a reset switch. The IO is centered on that strip and arranged symmetrically so it will look great no matter how you intend to use the chassis. In the rear, you can see that the motherboard is upright, with a bit of room below the expansion slots, so you should have no issues with cooling interfering with your motherboard.

The main glass panel is also framed in black and is close against the glass in the front. It would have been nice to have mitred edges on the glass so that it would look as clean as possible - especially as you could be resting the case on its side. On top of that, our sample has a pretty large gap between the two glass panels. The opposite panel is perforated to allow for airflow and as you can already see, a dust filter has been embedded to keep grime out. There are four rubber caps which you will have to remove when attaching the feet to the case. You will need those if you are planning to use the Light Base 600 LX on its side.

In the rear, there are seven expansion slots. Each of these are protected by an individual, vented cover. Above that, you will find a fan mounting position for a 120 or 140 mm unit which is equipped with a Light Wings LX 120 mm PWM set to push air out the back. Alternatively, there is enough clearance to install a radiator of identical dimensions. Last but not least, to the left of this and behind the motherboard tray, there is a PSU bay with two sets of mounting holes. While the flexibility to install a unit any way you like is nice, you should probably ensure that your intake fan is facing outward to have direct access to cool outside air.

The top of the case is also meant for venting, with a design that complements the solid components of the case. It has an embedded white dust filter, which is not removable unlike the one on the 900 series. The design looks great, and the dust filter is well engineered too, but it is also quite restrictive in terms of airflow. Underneath that cover, you will find mounting holes that can hold three 120 mm or two 140 mm fans. Alternatively, you may opt to install a radiator of up to 360 mm in size.

The underside of the case looks just like the top, including the be quiet! branding. The fact that it is identical is a necessity as you will expose this part of the case depending on how you opt to place your whole system.

At the center of the ability to use the be quiet! Light Base 600 LX upright, on its side or on its head are removable plastic feet. They are labeled to tell you which way to twist them to unlock them. Considering these are made of very soft plastic, you have to be really mindful to not twist the wrong way, as it will tear the clip apart.
