This likely stems from the fact that they don't pad shelves with a new product every few months. be quiet! instead focuses on refining core designs, and it shows as they continue to rack up numerous awards from both reviewers and readers alike, earning their popularity due in part to their philosophy of "no compromise silence and performance."


In today's review, I will be taking a look at the Pure Rock 2 from be quiet!. It features a slightly offset design for full memory compatibility and makes use of a single Pure Wings 2 fan. Overall, the cooler is rated as capable of handling a TDP of up to 150 W. Unlike its cousin, the Shadow Rock 3, the Pure Rock 2 uses one less heat pipe for a total of four vs. the five of the other. That said, at first glance, I would say the Pure Rock 2 has a nicer appearance if you like be quiet!'s more subtle all-black designs, and if you don't, well, they also offer a silver version which costs a bit less ($5).
