CM Storm Havoc Gaming Mouse Review

Value and Conclusion

  • The CM Storm Havoc sells for $59.
  • Price
  • Build quality
  • Good driver suite
  • Good sensor
  • Lots of buttons
  • Low actuation force on buttons
  • Sluggish tactile feedback of buttons
  • Sensor not centered
CM Storm has a very oddly configured mouse in the Havoc. It is presumably designed for MMOs, but its grip type is more for FPS gamers and the sensor is not placed well. What is great, on the other hand, are its ergonomics, which are very close to being on par with the more expensive Mionix and SteelSeries mice. The issues do extend beyond the sensor placement as its buttons are a bit quirky; they have a relatively long travel time and very little tactile feedback, which makes them feel a bit sluggish, though they register every click.

We do like the new rubber coating CM Storm has gone with for the Havoc, and the rubber-grip patch inside the thumb rest is definitely a welcome addition, though it might need regular cleaning. The Havoc has a lot of potential to become a brilliant mouse; it just lacks a little refinement to get there.
