A Closer Look

Corsair's design adheres to tried-and-true radiator design conventions. You won't find any fancy features or fin setups; instead, they stick with a simple radiator with a dense aluminium core. The FPI (fins-per-inch) comes in at 20-21, which is seen on the majority of other AIOs. When it comes to the fittings, it's a simple setup with the tubing entering into a glossy black fitting. Overall, every aspect of the radiator setup up to this point is standard practice. What is different is the iCUE LINK passthrough box mounted on the radiator. The wiring for which runs up to the pump, helping keep everything neat and clean, which is always a plus. It also helps simplify things when the fans are installed as well. Finally the tubing is nylon braided with a length of 450 mm.

The ARGB illuminated pump has a smoked gray appearance with the center cap that can be rotated if needed. The fittings near the pump are more visually striking due to the metal collars, one of which has a cutout for the wiring harness where it promptly enters the pump housing, making it all but invisible when the unit is installed. As for the copper coldplate, it has a very slightly convex base that has some minor machining marks visible. However, they pale in comparison to the marks left behind from the pre-applied thermal paste. Regardless, I found no issues or problems here worth reporting.

The fans are a unique design and differ from previous Corsair offerings. They utilize daisy-chainable connectors that are also magnetic, helping hold everything together. Furthermore, this feature helps keep cable clutter to a minimum. As for the ARGB lighting element, Corsair stuffed 34 addressable ARGB LEDs into the QX120 RGB fans, with both the fan frame on two sides, along with the outer ring and hub being illuminated. Regarding specifications, the fans have a rated CFM range of 16.44 to 63.1 and a PWM RPM range of 480 - 2400 with support for a zero RPM mode.
