Software

The Corsair iCUE software is very well designed overall. It's sleek, doesn't have any bugs, and is fast, at the cost of being heavyweight. Some of its options could be organized better, but it's still rather intuitive. Corsair also has some great tutorials that can definitely help you out if you get stuck somewhere.

After selecting your device, the main screen opens up its profile settings. You can link profiles to specific applications, trigger them with actions, and even give them your own icons if that's your thing. The Settings button at the top of the window takes you to the main device settings, as well as firmware updating, and for some reason, you can also change the polling rate here instead of in the Performance tab. The main program preferences are at the bottom of this window. Moving on to the Actions tab, it has all the button-mapping options, accessible after pressing the plus icon on the upper bar. Here, you can create endless amounts of macros, change all the button settings, and choose from a ton of key-press actions. The DPI tab contains the resolution options, and you can set up to 3+1 CPI levels or disable any you don't need. You can also set the corresponding color for the CPI levels, although not individually, unfortunately. The Performance page only contains angle snapping and Windows-related options, as well as the option to pick the colors for profile indication. You can set the lift-off distance in the Surface Calibration tab, and there's even a tab for weight-tuning, that calculates the exact weight and center of balance for you, depending on the number of cylinders you put into the slots.

The iCUE software roughly takes up 552 MB of disk space and consumes approximately 190 MB of memory in my configuration. Once again, it's rather heavyweight, but you can delete the software after setting everything up as the mouse has three built-in memory slots for its settings.

Lighting

Moving on to the eye candy, there are a ton of available RGB lighting effects and customization options. Four lighting zones can light up simultaneously, but you can control them individually or turn them off one by one. The colors are nice and vivid, transitions are smooth, and the lighting is bright.

Here's a demonstration video of some of the lighting effects:
