Chair Adjustments

Inspecting a chair thoroughly also includes taking a look at its ergonomic features. The two most frequently adjusted variables on this chair are its height and the tilt of the backrest, which you can adjust by using the levers below the right side of the sitting area.

The first lever is used to tilt the backrest. The angle between the backrest and the sitting area is statically adjustable by pulling up the lever. We came across a fault of the plastic material on the side of the lever facing toward the gas lift as there were some burrs along its edges.

You can choose a point between 90° and 180°. The backrest can almost fall all the way back. The tilt function can be adjusted as well, at up to 10° with a tilt-lock, but we found no rocking mechanism.

The next lever is at the rear of the sitting area and is for the tilt lock and adjustments to the chair's height. The chair's maximum height is 42 cm. For smaller people who are only around 1,65 m tall, we found the lever with which to adjust the height to be in an awkward position. It's kind of uncomfortable to reach the lever's position because it's situated way back and down. Taller people who used this chair thought its placement was perfectly fine, though.

The chair is equipped with padded arm caps for comfort and support with 4D movements. The armrests can be adjusted vertically, horizontally, and front-to-back, and you also have the option of angled adjustability with mechanical controls. The armrests also have a carbon fiber look, as has already been mentioned, which provides the chair with an additional modern touch that nicely supplements its whole appearance. Finally, there is the chair's ability to swivel around 360 degrees.

Under the sitting area rests a grade class 4 gas lift cylinder responsible for all height adjustments. The chair comes with a hard plastic five-star base to keep it a little lighter overall and in an effort to lower its production cost. The base includes five big and five smaller engraved triangles. The smaller triangles are of the same yellow as on the chair's surface.

The chair's wheels are nylon rollerblades. Corsair claims that they are heavy duty wheels that stay put while you game. However, most users who've tried this chair out for several days have stated that the wheels begin to roll extremely easy, which is mostly due to the fact that the chair is light since its base is made out of plastic and not much steel is used.

From a certain distance, the backrest cover on the rear of the chair looks as if made out of carbon fiber, which goes with the whole gaming automobile design concept.

Since the backrest doesn't have lumber support built-in, two pillows are included to make adjusting the chair's ergonomics to a user's needs even further an option. Neck and lumbar pillows are wrapped in PU leather and bear the same yellow diamond stitching as the seat and backrest. The smaller pillow is there for neck support, while the other, larger pillow is for lumbar support. Proper lumbar support should, however, offer both vertical- and depth-specific adjustment options.

The neck pillow can be installed in two different ways since it can snap on via a mechanism that will hopefully keep on working properly - time will tell. The lumbar pillow is also adjustable in two different directions because of snap-on attachments; upwards and downwards, to ensure it supports your lower back in the best possible way. We did notice that the leather folds downward at the rear, right where the straps go through.
