Packaging

Like the DeepCool AK620 cooler, the AS500 Plus WH uses a simple and clean outer packaging that is drastically different from the bright teal used on the original AS500. The front of the box proudly displays the cooler with its ARGB lighting and DeepCool logo. Meanwhile, the left side has nothing of note. So it is not until you get to the back of the box that you will find any useful information. DeepCool lists the cooler's various specifications and supported CPU sockets. Sadly, like the AK620 box, the light gray text is somewhat hard to read.

Finally, the right side and top are similar to the left in that they are rather plain with no information or anything else of serious note.

Contents

DeepCool knows how to butter me up. Okay, not really, but still, the interior packaging is solid, and they opted for a good bit of foam to protect the cooler and fans, something I like to see. It adds a premium feel to the unboxing experience and generally leaves a good impression.

Socket support is topnotch, with the AS500 Plus WH supporting all mainstream Intel sockets. On the AMD side, all CPU Sockets but TR4 and sTRX4 from as far back as AM2 are supported.

Common parts supplied for mounting include:

  • 2x Intel mounting arms
