Packaging and Accessories

The REVOLUTION D.F. X arrives in a nice, informative box. At the back of the box we find the list of main features, the AC and DC specs for the 850, 1050 and 1200 W REVOLUTION D.F. X variants as well as the list of available cables and connectors on the unit.

Inside the box we find the main treats: the PSU itself, a pouch with all the modular cables and the accessories, which includes a user manual, a standard C13 AC cable (EU socket in this case), the mounting screws, a couple of zip ties, an ATX 24 pin jump-start connector and a sticker, which perfectly matches the side of the PSU with the LEDs. The last photo here includes the ARGB connector to connect the PSU to the motherboard or an ARGB controller to control the lights in alignment with any other lights you might have installed.

All included modular cables are flat and unsleeved.

Enermax does a great job listing out the available cables / connectors and their lengths. As mentioned before, all the cables are not sleeved and have the clean look we're used to in higher end PSUs.

One thing to point out is that while Enermax lists two 12VHPWR cables, the PSU only has a single native 12VHPWR connector capable of 600 W. The second cable uses two 8pin headers to connect to the PSUs backplane, so effectively the REVOLUTION D.F. X 1200 W indeed has two 12VHPWR cables at your disposal.

As expected, the 12HPWR cables use 16 AWG cables. And while it would be great to see all the +12V rail cables being 16 AWG as well, the remaining EPS and PCIe cables are 18 AWG. With 12 SATA power connectors across two cables, spaced 15 cm apart, the D.F. X 1200 W has plenty of connectivity for storage devices.

None of the cables feature any inline capacitors for ripple/noise suppression.

Overall the REVOLUTION D.F. X 1200 W provides plenty of cable options for a unit of this wattage.
