Driver

Although the Fnatic Flick works straight out of the box, there is software to increase functionality with such options as changing colors or recording macros.

The first thing we are going to look at with the Fnatic Gear Flick are the button assignments. You can change the buttons to allow you to do pretty much anything you can do on your keyboard. Change them to keystrokes, multimedia keys, macros, or disable one or more entirely.

Changing the LEDs' color is an easy task also, and you have many options. If you would like to turn them off entirely, there is an option to do so. Alternatively, you can change them to any color you like using the color slider in combination with the saturation slider.

There are also some nice preset LED modes, such as pulsating or heartbeat, which gives you some nice dynamic lighting.

The macro functions are simple. You record the macro you would like to use using the macro recorder and assign it to a button on the mouse. There being no advanced option, very few other options are available, but more is usually not required for a mouse.

Finally, we have the profile tabs. These three tabs allow you to set three CPI settings, or change sensitivity, scroll speed, and polling rate, which is great if you like to use different sensitivities for different games. Switching between these quickly by pressing a button on the mouse is also possible.

Performance

This mouse performs very well. I have been playing quite a few games with it, and it hasn't let me down yet. It is quick to respond and very comfortable when used with a claw- or fingertip grip. A palm grip is possible, but will prove somewhat uncomfortable to those with large hands. The sensor was fine throughout testing and didn't wander or travel when I didn't need it to, but I did find the LOD (lift-off distance) to be a little higher than usual, which sometimes had the cursor move as I raised and moved the mouse around to reposition it. This sometimes happens with new mice, though, and would be easy to get used to if it were my main mouse. Overall, the mouse performed very well and lived up to my expectations.

Using the software was easy also. With it, I was able to change the color of the LED for the scroll wheel. It worked as expected and was very easy to use.
