Introduction

G.SKILL Logo

G.Skill is a well-known Taiwanese company renowned for their performance RAM with great overclocking capabilities. G.Skill has released a wide range of RAM options, such as the Aegis, Trident, and Sniper series. One of their more popular series has to be the Ripjaws range, though. These aggressive-looking sticks have been in many top spec systems and have gained a good reputation in the business.

G.Skill is now expanding on the Ripjaws branding with their new G.Skill Ripjaws KM780 RGB keyboard. This keyboard promises to deliver high performance and high quality to basically mirror what is offered with their RAM range.

We managed to get our hands on the G.Skill Ripjaws KM780 RGB and MX780, which is their new gaming mouse, and thought it best to put both through a test drive to see how they do.

Packaging

G.Skill chose to give the box for the Ripjaws KM780 a stylish industrial look. As you would expect, there is a nice image of the keyboard on front to show off the keyboard's RGB capabilities. There are also some snippets of information that show us what to expect when we open the box. Cherry MX switches, dedicated macros, and a detachable wrist rest are just a few of the features available.

The rear of the box shows us far more of the features the KM780 RGB hosts. They are so plentiful, G.Skill even numbered them! There are eleven noteworthy features, such as dedicated media controls and fully programmable keys. Although it isn't mentioned, the board also has NKRO and 100% anti-ghosting.

Inside the box, we have a pretty complete package. There is the KM780 RGB, a wrist rest, a warranty guide, and a little case containing some extra keycaps and a keycap remover. Sometimes, companies don't include all of these items, which is a shame. I would rather have a wrist rest and not use it than need a wrist rest and not have one.
