Multimedia Performance

The following tests playback several video clips from the Q11's flash memory and the internal HDD we installed (WD Scorpio 80 GB). Next, we connect the Q11 to a fast USB stick and reproduce the same video clips off the USB stick. All tests include the playback of videos with a bit rate of 20-90mbps, and two M2TS files. The results can be found in the table below.

The Q11 performed surprisingly well in our multimedia playback tests. Even the highest bit rate videos were reproduced flawlessly off the internal flash memory and the installed HDD. The hardware restrictions inevitably didn't allow all files on the USB flash drive to be reproduced without a loss in frames.

AnTuTu and Quadrant

AnTuTu and Quadrant are two popular benchmarks that help in measuring and comparing the performance of every Android device to other such popular devices.

The weak CPU that the Q11 is equipped with doesn't allow for a higher ranking in the above charts. Unfortunately, the very same CPU significantly influences the response of the Q11 in daily use, especially during demanding tasks. A quad-core CPU would easily switch the situation around without affecting the unit's overall cost significantly. It would also increasing its usability dramatically.

Power Consumption

We used an Instek GPM-8212 power analyzer to measure the power consumption of the Q11 in various operational modes.

The Q11 consumes very little power in all operational modes, even while reproducing very high bit rate multimedia files where its CPU has to work with a full load. There lies the most significant advantage of such products: You can leave them on forever and won't have to worry about power consumption or increased electricity bills.

Noise Level

The Q11 doesn't put out any noise because it is passively cooled, which makes it an ideal solution for environments where absolute silence is required, or for users with incredibly sensitive hearing—those that can't stand any noise whatsoever.
