Gigabyte Setto 1000 & ODIN 470W PSU Review

Assembly

Installing the mainboard is done with the use of the included mainboard spacers. Gigabyte did include enough to install a standard ATX board. This time around, instead of installing one large graphic card, we installed three Quadros. These are held in place very well by the metal clipping system. If you plan to take the PC to a LAN party, you should still secure the cards with screws - which are not bundled with the Setto 1000.

Installing a standard hard drive is easily done with the plastic locks. They do, however, not hold well, so to avoid vibrations, you should use additional screws. Did I mention they were not included with the case? We also installed a 2.5 inch drive in the external 3.5 inch bay, to show you, that a hard drive can be installed here. When placing the optical drive in the enclosure, we were confronted with the same problems as with the smaller drives. The locking mechanism does hold, but still allows for quite a bit of play and the lack of screws.

The power supply is held in place by normal case screws and fits well. Due to the traditional interior layout of the Setto 1000, installing a large PSU should not be a problem.

After installing all the components we spent a bit of time with cable management, or - in this case - hiding. Luckily you can hide the bulk of them behind the hard drive bays, making further exchange or expansion of parts an easy task.

Finished Looks

After replacing the side panels, we turned on the PC. First off, the fans in the system were actually not as loud as we had feared. Even though we used a white optical drive, it does not look too terrible. For those users with white drives, we would suggest grabbing the Setto 1000 with a silver front.

The above picture is intended for completions sake, as the OEM interior does not leave much room for error. Everything is where one would expect it.

The blue power LED is a nice touch, as it is part of the power button. Overall the Gigabyte Setto 1000 makes a very good impression, when the outside looks are concerned.
