Installation

The notebook is the newest generation Macbook Pro with a 2.4 GHz CPU and Centrino Duo platform (but Intel officially does not call it platform any longer). With Bootcamp we are able to use both Windows XP Pro and Mac OS X 10.4.10 with the notebook. Installing the Matrox DualHead2Go Digital was incredibly simple. Just insert the CD, open the "Mac" folder and doubleclick on the control panel plugin. The PDF is actually the same document as the one placed inside the box on a sheet of paper. Once the plugin is installed you can open the GXM program from your OS X control panel

It is much simpler than the Windows variant, leaving all control options to the OS itself. It does detect the device once it is plugged in.

You have to make sure to set the external monitor resolution yourself, as the GXM software does not seem to set them to 2560x1024, even if you click on "Adjust now". Just set the two LCDs to a low resolution in OS X itself, open the "Monitors" window and then change it to the above settings. After this point it works flawlessly as well. The fact that the initial setup does not work with the "Apply Now" button in the GXM control panel is not mentioned anywere in the (very short) documentation.

Use with Mac OS X

Once everything was set up, the system works just as it does in Windows. Every screen can be used for seperate things and the Mystic River DVD worked perfectly, at any position of the three displays.
