A Closer Look
The Core Frozr L features an offset single-tower design that makes use of fifty-one aluminum fins that draw the heat off the four Ø8 mm heatpipes.
While its design seems simplistic, there is the fact that it has been designed specifically to force more air over the heatpipes in order to directly cool them down.
The top plate is interchangeable; there is either the pre-installed gray or black version, which I swapped to for these pictures. The Gaming Series shield is illuminated by LEDs and adds a bit of visual flair to the design. The four heatpipes are arranged in a typical U-shape, while the base has visible machining marks even though it is smooth to the touch.
The 120mm fan MSI paired the Core Frozr L with has a PWM range of 500-1800 RPM and features a hydro dynamic bearing. Its model number is PLA12025S12H-4, and it has a maximum CFM of 71.27.
