A Closer Look - Backrest
The backrest is wide, and this chair is thus a great choice for users with broad shoulders. The backrest has slightly raised edges, so there is no limit as far as the user's body type goes. The backrest is wide and sturdy, and its dimensions become narrower the higher up it goes. The backrest is 86 cm (33.85") long and 52 cm (20.47") wide.
This chair has been reinforced with a solid steel frame, which means it can hold someone with a weight of up to 150 kg (330.9 lb); it also ensures a comfortable backrest is what noblechairs has on offer here with the ICON series. A distinctive diamond stitching pattern runs across the backrest and seat's base. The PU faux leather upholstery is covered in perforations for breathability and comfort over even longer sessions. These perforations are there to makes sure you won't sweat while using this chair.
The combination of a steel frame and 55% stable high-density cold foam seems to suffice when it comes to supporting all kinds of users (light/mid/heavy). The ICON chair with PU faux leather is softer than the real leather ICON chair. This fact, along with a shimmering glow that pours through the upholstery's perforations, make this chair a very interesting piece of furniture.
The chair is primarily black, but with platinum white stitching. A black chair is often a great choice because it fits into just about any environment well. The platinum white stitching is a detail that adds a venerable touch to the chair's whole make up.
The backrest's reclining angle ranges from 90-135 degrees and is set via a lever underneath the right side of the seat's base. We would like to see a recline of up to 150 degrees.
The maximum tilt is 11 degrees and can be adjusted via a knob under the seat. By turning the knob clockwise, one can tighten or loosen the tilt's resistance.
Another option is the tilt lock/free feature, which one can set by using a lever under the seat's left side. The backrest does not recline all the way back, which we weren't bothered by since we have never slept on a chair. With that said, such might not be the case for others, so it would, as previously mentioned, be nice if the backrest had the ability to recline even further.
Two plastic bits cover the bolts that secure the backrest, and both seem to be of fine quality. The plastic bits go well with the chair's overall aesthetic. However, since noblechairs is usually one to pay attention to details, we couldn't but notice that the bolts (that were used to insert the plastic seat-mount covers) can be made out from afar. This detail depreciates the chair's aesthetics a bit.
At the front of the backrest, we come across a discrete black-on-silver aluminum plate with the noblechairs logo in the middle.
A large engraved noblechairs logo appears on the headrest as well, and the nobelchairs name and logo have been engraved into the plastic bits of the seat's base.
A Closer Look - Armrests
The armrests are 4D, made out of polyurethane (PU), and soft-padded. They are really sturdy and do not tremble when rocked intentionally. Brushed, they also don't let one's forearms slide off easily.
The buttons seem to be of better quality than most, but the armrests seem to be smaller than most as well. However, we believe that even so, an optimal position will easily be adopted by most since these armrests can be adjusted in any direction. The first front button does not protrude like the other two and is for angular adjustments. The next button is for in-out adjustment, and the last one is for height adjustments.
