Software

The Lift 2 Symm is compatible with CAM, which is NZXT's staple software suite. CAM is similar to Corsair iCUE or ASUS Armoury Crate in that it is an all-in-one software package for all NZXT products, including monitoring functions and RGB lighting control. In order for setting changes to be saved to the mouse, one first has to select one of the five on-board profiles.

All settings are presented on a single page. CPI can be adjusted for up to five steps at a range of 100 to 26,000 CPI, either by dragging the slider or inputting values manually, in the latter case of which any non-native values are truncated to native ones. Polling rate can be set to 125, 250, 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, or 8000 Hz. Lift-off distance may be set to 1 or 2 mm. A macro editor is included, and button remapping is possible for all but the left and right main buttons to mouse, keyboard, or media functions. Lastly, profile management is included, too.

All settings changes can be saved to the on-board memory, so the software does not need to be running (or be installed) all the time. On my system, the software had a RAM footprint of 242 MB on average along with some CPU cost when running in the foreground, which does not change when minimized to the taskbar or system tray. Upon exiting the application, a single process keeps running.
