System Settings Part#3

The Power group allows you to restart or shut down the NAS, specify the NAS's behavior after a power recovery, and set a schedule for automatic system power/on/restart. You can also enable EuP mode here. The NAS will consume less than 1 W in standby mode with EuP enabled, but enabling it will disable Wake on LAN, AC power resumption, and all power schedule settings.

The Notification center provides you with options for email alerts, informing you about system errors and warnings. You can also configure the SMSC server to send SMS messages to specified phone number(s) and can select the instant alerts the NAS will send to designated users once a system event occurs.

Here, you can update the firmware of the NAS to a newer version and enable the Live Update option, which automatically checks if a newer firmware version is available.

Backup and restore functions can be performed through this group of settings. You can also reset to factory defaults here, which will erase all of your data and settings, so be careful with this option.

All connected external storage disks, USB printers, and UPS devices can be configured through these options.

You can take a look at a summary of system and hardware, your network's status, all running system services, and the resource monitor through these options.

Up to 10,000 event logs can be stored to the NAS. These include warnings, errors, and various information messages. So, check the event log to troubleshoot if you come across a problem like we did. Here, you can also check on all connected users, disconnecting them if you want.
