Installation

Installing the Reeven Ouranos is rather straightforward. To start, prepare the backplate by sliding its screws into place and using the rubber washers to secure them. Now, place the backplate on the motherboard.

With the backplate installed, put the four plastic washers over the screws, before putting the mounting plate onto the four screws and washers and securing it with the four provided hex nuts.

Now, apply some thermal compound to the CPU. Once done, position the heatsink with its crossbar over the mounting plate's two screw holes, before using the crossbar's screws to fasten the heatsink to the motherboard.

With that done, you just have to attach the fan to the heatsink and plug the fan into the CPU fan header—that's it, all done.

Because in part due to its simple design, the install was relatively quick and painless. I would rate the procedure an 8 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest) because the included hex wrench makes things more challenging than they need to be. Patience is key if you are installing the cooler onto a motherboard already inside a case. It's by no means difficult, just somewhat obnoxious.
