We finally have a new platform from Seasonic who took its time before entering the Titanium efficiency club where Super Flower had thus far dominated the field. As it seems, Super Flower's domination has come to an end since the Prime platform is super, offering better performance in almost every metric, including load regulation and efficiency. The Prime units are also able to deliver amazing ripple suppression without using special cables equipped with filtering caps. Although such cables do improve ripple performance, they are bulky, and should you want to use other types of cables (e.g. individually sleeved ones), you lose their improved ripple-performance benefit. The best way to fight ripple is by using internal instead of external parts (no filtering caps on modular cables). Not only is its performance top notch, the Prime 750 is also super silent due to its 135mm fluid dynamic bearing fan with a highly optimized fan profile. There is also a semi-passive mode, which last for quite a while because of the Prime 750's very high efficiency levels. Seasonic did a great job with their new Prime units and says its development to have taken lots of time and a ton of money, so their increased price tags don't surprise us. Hopefully, prices will drop to more affordable levels in the future, though, especially once the sales volume increases. Prices will probably also drop should Seasonic decide to offer this platform to other companies to sell under their own brand.
We are anxious to see Seasonic's full Prime and Focus lines hit the market. These PSUs will have a significant impact on the PSU world, and will probably make Seasonic's competitors, with Super Flower being at the very top of that list, go back to their drawing boards in an attempt to build something as good or better. Meanwhile, we expect the competition to lower their prices in order to keep up.
